Re: Building with Simonds in SA (LOTS OF PICS) 262Jan 23, 2014 9:22 am Hey Guys, Do you have cornices on the cathedral ceiling section? Just found out we are, they never asked if we just wanted a square finish like the display homes, honestly just through it would be the same as the display homes. Re: Building with Simonds in SA (LOTS OF PICS) 263Jan 23, 2014 9:25 am As far as I'm aware we have the cornices... the square finish was an extra cost. We didnt care, so we just went with the cornice option. I asked when she showed us the option for cornices if they applied to the raised ceiling section and thats when she explained it. Re: Building with Simonds in SA (LOTS OF PICS) 265Jan 23, 2014 9:48 am May I ask how much it cost Deluxes? Re: Building with Simonds in SA (LOTS OF PICS) 266Jan 23, 2014 11:44 am She actually didnt mention... all she said that it was quite pricey. She said that she would be happy to get the costing for us, but we just said not to worry. How did it go? I bet everything was awesome. Re: Building with Simonds in SA (LOTS OF PICS) 268Jan 23, 2014 1:59 pm Oh my gosh, pre handover is today!! How exciting, I really can't belive how fast its been and that you'll be in your house in a week. We were thinking about it today when we were driving to our house to see our roof and we thought about how excited we'd be when we're driving to OUR house for the first time and its all ours (forgetting the bank!)! Re: Building with Simonds in SA (LOTS OF PICS) 269Jan 23, 2014 4:36 pm Hi guys, hanging to see how the PCI went today!! Bet you cant stop smiling!! Waiting with anticipation..... Re: Building with Simonds in SA (LOTS OF PICS) 270Jan 23, 2014 11:13 pm Hey guys it went so good today, Ross is awesome and walked around the house with us listing everything we saw (only little things like scratches and marks). It was a shock today to see our air con had been installed as Ross said it wasn't meant to be done till the day before we take the keys, works very well though Yeah we got the cornices on the cathedral ceiling, at first we called and said we didn't ask for that, then changed our minds as it actually looks really nice and finished. So you get the keys in a week? Re: Building with Simonds in SA (LOTS OF PICS) 273Jan 24, 2014 9:33 am mjmelb It looks aweseome guys, you must be so excited! So you get the keys in a week? Yeah booked in for next Thursday Re: Building with Simonds in SA (LOTS OF PICS) 274Jan 24, 2014 9:34 am One more quick question, from what I see, you have light bulbs rather than downlights. Are you getting downlights installed afterwards? Re: Building with Simonds in SA (LOTS OF PICS) 275Jan 24, 2014 11:24 am Well done! Looks just great. Can't wait until you tell us you have your keys. Re: Building with Simonds in SA (LOTS OF PICS) 276Jan 24, 2014 2:29 pm mjmelb One more quick question, from what I see, you have light bulbs rather than downlights. Are you getting downlights installed afterwards? We have down lights in the high roof section and in our front hall, the other rooms we will do later as we get the money, as it was the 17 we have already costed about $6000 extra. We will probably do it room by room as not sure how we want them set out yet Re: Building with Simonds in SA (LOTS OF PICS) 277Jan 24, 2014 2:38 pm Wow thats really looking good now. Re: Building with Simonds in SA (LOTS OF PICS) 278Jan 24, 2014 2:44 pm $6000, WOW! At least they're in I guess! We're just dealing with the problem now! We decided to do it ourselves, cheaper and we can have LED lights, didn't think we'd be able to organise intall until we moved in, however some friends are telling me that a sparky can come in now before the plaster goes up and at least install the wiring, which would make things a whole lot easier. Oh well. Re: Building with Simonds in SA (LOTS OF PICS) 279Jan 24, 2014 2:52 pm We got a 22 "pack" of LED dimmable downlights for $3,190. It was a new thing they released, because they'd only just got the pricing for it... We just went with it, seemed like a good deal and included it in the contract. We dont have downlights in bedrooms or bathrooms though. If we didnt get the "pack" we would have done it after handover as well. To expensive through the builder. Next week you wont have to leave! Woohoo! Awesome! Yup we did downlights through Simonds and got 12 and it was cheap as part of their promotion. We did get a quote also before we went through the builder and it ended up roughly the same cost per downlight, not including installation. My land is 260m2 (10m x 26m) located in claymore NSW.
