Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our First Home Build DFH - Bendigo 21Nov 23, 2013 3:47 pm Quick update - we had our slab poured on Monday, it was delayed a week due to rain. Now we can't believe the progress!! Every time we have been out there (even at 6:30pm and on Saturday afternoon) they were out there building away!! Very exciting. Does anyone know if they do bricks or roof first? I will write an update and add some photos on the weekend Sallie Build Blog: http://sallieandlukeshouse.blogspot.com.au/ Build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65860&p=1053758&hilit=bendigo#p1053758 Re: Our First Home Build DFH - Bendigo 27Aug 17, 2014 10:50 pm Hi All, I have added a few more photos to my blog. More to come shortly (still writing my "post handover" blog). http://sallieandlukeshouse.blogspot.com.au/ bjasani - The tiles were from Bendigo Floor and Home centre (the tile people) and they are called Kalahari Crystal Polished TS4486 600x600. They cost around $1,000 for the upgrade ($500 for the tiles and $500 paid direct to the tiler to lay them). If you were going to put them right throughout the house it would get quite expensive but we only have them in the wet areas. We LOVE them, very much worth the extra money. tlblhayward - I will check out your blog, Junourton is a beautiful place to live! I absolutely love your finished house especially the tiles in wet areas. We are planning to do right throughout house except bedrooms. It's going to be 75 sq all area so not sure how much that would cost? I hope it suits our budget as well. Thanks again for sharing your experience. Bjasani Re: Our First Home Build DFH - Bendigo 29Aug 18, 2014 8:59 am Your house looks sensational! I absolutely love everything that you have done to it... particularly your floor boards. I am not usually a fan of timber flooring but your floors are almost enough to convince me otherwise!
