Now for the piers, drainage and then slab!!! Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 82Sep 15, 2013 7:17 am Quick question guys.. We should be getting a call to book our selection appointments this week and was wondering whether they have timber flooring samples there or do we need to make an appointment elsewhere? Have budgeted for 600x600 floor tiles but if timber is going to be not much more we would prefer timber. Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 83Sep 16, 2013 8:23 am Pinny - they do have some samples there - but we found it so much better to actually go to the supplier prior to the appointment. This gave us more time to just focus on the flooring on it's own and play with samples AND get the experts advice etc. I will PM you the details of who to contact. He was absolutely brilliant to deal with on email - and the guy we dealt with on the day was as equally fantastic. If you decide then and there what you want, they write up the information and such and you can then take your copy to the colour appointment. PLus - doing it this way saves you time from your colour appointment - we were prepared with just about all of our choices and it still took 3 hours. Do take your time though. Rawson are excellent at this process and you have to remember that you have to LOVE each choice as you'll be living with it for years to come. Enjoy. We liked the colour appointment the best. Still patiently waiting for them all to ring and make our appointments. Looks like we are still a least 2 weeks away from plans going to council. For the water board to endorse our plans we require an engineer report/plan showing that the placement of our water tank isn't going to interfere with the sewer on our land. Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 88Sep 20, 2013 8:12 am Congrats Robbie! Pinny, you can always say to your CSO that you need to make the appointments to fit in with your schedule.. We had the good excuse of habving to travel to get to the appointments in SYdney so worked a bit in our favour that way. Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 89Sep 20, 2013 12:21 pm I've tried that JTM, as my hubby works in NT... 4 weeks away 1 week home, and I really need him home for the appointments, and I keep getting told someone will ring me shortly. Its 2 weeks next week since second installment made - and still no calls. They have till monday arvo to ring me... then im going to get my super cranky pants on! I cant see why its so hard Howd you go with the rock?? Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 90Sep 20, 2013 12:35 pm Pics updated to my blog.. rock wasn't so bad so far. Should know full extent today or Monday. Our rock is more a solid clay and sandstone type stuff. Compacted it's quite solid, which is good for us making good foundations etc. I agree Pinny, it shouldn't be that hard for them to get stuff sorted. Oh and if they try to give you the "changed to new systems spiel" don't fall for it. I was given it twice! Months apart. Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 91Sep 20, 2013 2:56 pm Great to see everyone's movement.. so on that note.. our council has been APPROVED!! only just been approved yesterday. I've been tracking the application online (this lovely lady from Camden council helped me how to track app online) Our CSO told us it may take 6 to 8 weeks for the approval. However it only just took 4 days. this is because we are building one story and Camden council has been really quick with the approval. Now awaiting on the CSO to advise next step, think we might have to go for our electrical now since we had to wait for council approval first before we could to the electrical. Doing my happy dance!!!! cant wait now!! I'd be very surprised if it happpens as we have been delayed with getting our piers and plumbing done. DA was approved 1st July - site started as in first sign of any work on the 3rd September. Our DA was approved 03/10/12 and our CC was issued the same day as Rawson use the council for CC in our area. For every other council Rawson use private certifiers to get the CC. Once the DA is approved, it will then go to CC. From what others are saying CC is taking over two weeks and then once the CC is issued Rawson have 20 working days to get to site. Our CC was issued 03/10/12 - we went to site 31/10/13, but only part of the file was given to the SS, the other part the following week. Site had survey pegs 08/11/12, Cut 13/11/12 and slab 28/11/12 Great news about your slab JTM. It is great weather all week. Hopefully you get a slab dance this week. No major changes, just need to show that we will have piering near the sewer site and show that the sewer will be protected. We have to go through council in our area due to bush fire zone and mine subsidance. Our council is only taking about 10 days to approve, so hopefully by the time we lodge it is still the same wait if not quicker. Hoping for at least site cut before they break up for xmas - that way we can get our pool in and maybe do some retaining walls as well. 3 51578 Any advice on how to ensure the kit home granny flat that im thinking of buying will get council approval.
