Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour- ???? - Flooring update 321Mar 01, 2014 11:17 am oh no Hope they're spending time on preparation so they don't have to spend time on fixing things later on... but that's quite a long time of nothingness... how disappointing. The tiles you've chosen look lovely, have you picked your internal wall colour? Lucky Star was on our shortlist too, we changed our mind in the last minute (of course) Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour- ???? - Flooring update 322Mar 01, 2014 12:00 pm Thanks Janice. The tiles got delivered yesterday afternoon so pics of the tiles were taken in lower light. They look a little whiter than they appear in the photo. We were trying to decide on flooring before we chose internal colours, (it's taken a while as we've had a house guest from the UK for 3 months) We've gone backwards and forwards between tiles and polymer flooring but we couldn't find anything that we both were really sold on. We spotted Lucky Star Fleck on the floor in a shop in Mandurah. When we did a search for anyone selling them, we came across Tile Clearance Warehouse. I went there (Welshpool) last week and saw the Pure White ones and knew straight away. Internal is the next thing on the list. Probably going to be neutral whites and greys with splashes of colours. Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour- ???? - Flooring update 323Mar 02, 2014 10:46 pm oncewerefurriers emacleo0 Hi OWF! House is looking fab. Thanks. Unfortunately it's not looking so fab now because a big piece of the sarking has been ripped off by the wind and a fair bit of it is flapping loose where the wind has pulled the nails through it leaving it looking like a tramps vest. But it's quite noticeable as you can see the house from just about everywhere in Secret Harbour. It was done a few weeks ago when there were quite strong winds. It stemmed from a couple of areas; they used clout nails where staples would seem to be a better choice and I don't think they put anywhere near enough of them in. The sarking was quite loose and, with the upper storey being exposed to the Ocean, it was only a matter of time until something happened. Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour- ???? - Flooring update 327Mar 02, 2014 11:09 pm Well at least it's an easy fix but it's still not what you want the house should start looking more finished not less finished lol Hopefully they have it sorted and looking nice for you soon Design by Greater Concept - modified version Evolution Court Build by Premiere Homes My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64854 Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour- ???? - Flooring update 329Mar 02, 2014 11:14 pm Cheers bb. We're just hoping it's not going to cause any more delays. The scaffolding has come down around the upper storey so hopefully they won't have to rebuild it to fix this problem. Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour- ???? - Flooring update 330Mar 02, 2014 11:15 pm AKB Yeah you forget how strong the wind is coming off the ocean until you are close too it However, it's great having the Ocean breeze to keep the temperature down. Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour- ???? - Flooring update 331Mar 02, 2014 11:26 pm So true - that's our retirement plan the beach house (we bought the block in 98 not that we're looking forward to retirement lol <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour- ???? - Flooring update 332Mar 07, 2014 6:09 am hi, is your plan comes with boundary wall as standard? or, did you pay extra for that? thanks! Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour- ???? - Flooring update 333Mar 07, 2014 5:41 pm The limestone fencing was provided by the land developer. It's a requirement for the area - no colorbond fencing allowed. Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour- ???? - Flooring update 334Mar 13, 2014 12:08 pm Any update on your build? Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour- ???? - Flooring update 335Mar 13, 2014 12:24 pm Roof is supposed to be starting this week. The delay was caused waiting for a "known" roofing team rather than getting someone that hadn't been used before. So we're expecting great things. Nothing had been done as of yesterday so hopefully they'll start today. Getting a bit frustrated as we've had 1 day of actual building work in the last 7 weeks and we really can't see how they can make that time up. Maybe we'll be surprised. Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour- ???? - Flooring update 336Mar 20, 2014 7:21 pm Hi OWF, any progress with the roof? Or with anything for that matter? Hoping its a yes! My Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62841 Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour- ???? - Flooring update 337Mar 20, 2014 10:46 pm It is a yes. After 6 weeks the roof started yesterday. I've been in Melbourne so got back to find that they'd finally made a start. We'll do a photo update tomorrow. I'm building in the same estate and had to pay additional cost for both of the above. Depends how much direct sun it gets. Is there any shading (eaves or trees)? If the sun hits a window directly it doesn't matter too much if it's double or single… 1 12685 9 24858 Congratulations! Nice to put that to bed before christmas, now you can relax 3 7206 |
