Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1407Dec 09, 2015 8:41 pm Progressing at a snails pace over here.... Bricks started 8 weeks ago and still not finished!!!! Nothing else happening, so frustrating as we were supposed to be at lock up. Now at 32 weeks and still soooooo far to go Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1408Dec 09, 2015 8:41 pm Yep, I'm pretty p**sed. I know then shut down on 22nd Dec, so if the roof doesn't get finished I am fearful that further damage to the structure can happen over the course of the shutdown. Actually I don't anticipate seeing anyone do or fix anything on our site till Feb 2016 and that scares the **** out of me. Our SS is DB, and he has 1 more week to get the frame fixed, roof on and lockup. Wishful thinking. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1410Dec 10, 2015 8:09 pm Big Mama Hey guys Guess what I've got..... A nice bunch of shiny keys! Picked up yesterday afternoon. Moving in Saturday. Appliances being installed Tuesday. YAY!!!! Phew, all over. Wooooot! that is excellent Big Mama ! right in time for christmas *congrats!* Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1412Dec 11, 2015 9:37 am quach128 Congrats on the keys Loks, I am jealous. Returntoshire, did you have frame inspection yet ? Hi quach, yep frame inspection wasn't too bad, a couple of things to fix - nothing major. I do have a plumbing in my media room which I wasn't expecting!! Electrics & Sentinel rough ins done, wall insulation in. My window has now been moved, just needs to be re-bricked around it. My back bi-fold doors are on. SS is saying I should have lockup & gyprocking done by shutdown. Contract finish date is 26/1/16, which is impossible, but SS agrees with my estimate of March/April 2016. I hope you get your frames sorted soon!! Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1413Dec 11, 2015 10:47 am Hi everyone, haven't been in this forum for ages how's everyone going? Now we are on the appointment stage with tiles, air conditioning and etc... We are building at Jordan Springs. Do anyone know how long will cdc take to be approve? anyone use better view blinds & shutter? do they do a good job? or we should use local blinds & shutter? Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1416Dec 11, 2015 8:28 pm Thank you everyone for your lovely comments Just had the final shower in this dump rental home. Been packing all day and now finished, as I have run out of boxes and packing tape. Oh my goodness...tomorrow night will be our first night in the new home I am convinced we will wake up on Sunday with complete disorientation not knowing where we are Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1420Dec 16, 2015 5:58 am Congrats to Loks and Bigmama on getting keys. Especially Bigmama, yours was a looong process. I hope your appliances are lovely. I tried my oven for the first time last night (before was all stovetop) and it had stinky new oven smell as it heated up. I put water, cloves and cinnamon in a dish and put that into the oven, which helped a lot. I hope everyone else's houses get to at least some stable state prior to the closedown. Fingers crossed for all of you. Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 77412 I would never build with Fowler homes.
