Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1501Jun 14, 2014 9:42 am Pooks - LOVING my new pad!! Move was a bit horrendous! NEVER really want to do it again so it's a good thing I love my new house! haha Oh and I have the same thing going on with my flooring btw, lots of dips etc and they do feel like they are moving, don't feel very solid at all.. I have been told this will settle over time by a few people - non HBC ppl so that's reassuring! But I love the look of my floors! Haven't attempted cleaning them yet as we are still without fencing and taking our dog out into the 'mud' every couple of hours (he won't go on concrete :/) but when our fences go up we will temp fence our alfresco area and put out a tray with some chip bark in it to simulate garden (fussy I know) and then it will be less muddy in the house... With the flooring it will take a little bit of time to settle. When my folks installed theirs it took a bit of time. Felt like there were dips and other weird things ha Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1503Jun 14, 2014 2:28 pm Sorry for the double post. We've just been told by our SS in 4 weeks we will have keys! He said the only thing that will cause delays is our bank. Time to put our packing into over drive. We've got a walk through next week. Once we do that I'll give notice to our landlord. Woo! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1504Jun 14, 2014 3:13 pm Congrats Niccles! Not long now Good to hear from you Hayles! Reassuring to know you have had a few people say the floor settles too! Our cats haven't been outside yet. No point, it's just mud!! I went to a few garden supply places today because I have now decided to pay for the damn dirt to get it done. I can get budget soil, 7cubic metres delivered for $300 from Kennedys in Cranbourne (I will need more) or packing sand that is 10cubic metres from another place for $240. I'm thinking of doing both. Packing sand down first, then the budget dirt then a top layer of top soil. Thoughts? At the other end of the window frame where we have placed tape over it you can look through the gap (it's way bigger) and see the render!! Hayles!!!!!! How did the move go? How are you liking your new pad? I felt like I was going behind their back too but now I don't care because the SS and liaison said we could contact both. Mostly relates to costs. 1. How much does downlights costs if we were to include it in the upgrades, e.g. for 16sq 3BR house. (Nobel 16) 2. How much roughly is the range of price for fencing on a 10m x 37m would cost? I've read post by Hayles85 that it was approximately $450 and shared with the neighbours. It's that the approximate full price? Thanks! I thought of doing that too, but haven't really asked. Was it expensive to have it customised? Thanks!
