Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Aveling-Harrisdale-Roof Frame 261Feb 27, 2014 11:53 pm Roof frame is now finished, eaves and fascia installed, plumber has been (although I think he missed my fridge tap!) and the electrical work is pretty much done. Now just waiting on the roof plumber and roof cover to happen. CL advised today, after I emailed 2 days ago, that it's all expected to happen next week. Apparently they had an "order mix up" which has caused a delay. It's now 2 weeks since timber frames were completed. I may just have a payment mix up when the next invoice comes! I'll get some pictures next week, hopefully with some colorbond in them! Re: Aveling-Harrisdale-Roof Frame 264Mar 01, 2014 1:11 am Been away and catching up. Looks like a lot has been done in past few weeks, though i'm sure it seems slow to you. Hope the colorbond goes up without a hitch next week. Re: Aveling-Harrisdale-Roof Frame 265Mar 06, 2014 11:48 pm No materials delivered to site for the roof or gutters still. Now days away from being 3 weeks since roof frame was completed. I've sent an email to the CL asking for a please explain as I calculate I'm roughly about 4-5 weeks behind where I should be. (Now 19 weeks since slab down and only bricks and roof timbers completed!) Will be interesting to see the response and excuses! Perhaps taking long service leave during my build? There are another two homes just around the corner from me, which I imagine would be his too, which aren't going any quicker. I think he is moving teams from mine to theirs as they are following each other. I'm really unimpressed with the lack of organisation. I remember our first CL was not contactable for a while before I got the "out of office forever" reply. Re: Aveling-Harrisdale-Roof Frame 269Mar 07, 2014 1:25 am That's terrible Jaceb. You should be ahead of me! It would be very interesting to know what their excuse is. I know we recently got a new CL as they apparently did a restructure due to many new clients but that should make them anxious to finish the projects already underway right? My Build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64881 Re: Aveling-Harrisdale-Roof Frame 270Mar 10, 2014 9:42 pm That's really not good, I wonder what's going on with them, guess we might never know though. Just went back to my build and we were only a couple of weeks away from handover by then. (That comment doesn't help you at all ) However I remember my 2005 build with Easy Living very vividly and that slab went down in October 2004 and build was finished 12 months later all due to building boom. Altogether 20 months from signing up. Keep your spirits up Jaceb, that's all you can do Re: Aveling-Harrisdale-Roof Frame 271Mar 10, 2014 11:48 pm Hadn't received any response from anybody after my email on Thursday so I called up the CL today. After leaving a message and not having my call returned after 2 hours I called again and got through. The answers I got came from the 'play dumb handbook'. Couldn't answer a question directly and couldn't wait to get me off the phone. Apparently there will be a discussion with the SS tomorrow and a response either tomorrow or Wednesday. If not, or if it's an unsatisfactory response, I'll be taking it a bit further with somebody in management. I don't want to have to make this into a huge deal and become one of those clients, but this is getting beyond a joke. On a positive note.... At least the progress payments aren't growing! Hope they get their act together quickly and get moving. Re: Aveling-Harrisdale-Roof Frame 274Mar 11, 2014 12:46 am But it is a big deal. They admitted they made ordering mistakes and they should be bending over backwards to rectify it - not giving you flimsy excuses My Build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64881 Re: Aveling-Harrisdale-Roof Frame 275Mar 12, 2014 8:35 pm I had to chase up the CL at 4.30 today as I still hadn't received a response, and even after the phone call I'm no wiser. There was talk of a tradie team letting them down, but there was no answer to my question as to why there still isn't even materials on site. Hello Week 20 since slab!! Now it seems I'm waiting on a response from the project manager. If this hasn't been addressed by COB tomorrow, I'll be taking it to somebody else to try and have sorted out. My Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62001 Re: Aveling-Harrisdale-Roof Frame 276Mar 12, 2014 8:37 pm Oh jaceb how dissapointing for you 20 weeks is a long time from slab <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Aveling-Harrisdale-Roof Frame 277Mar 12, 2014 8:45 pm That's so poor. Even if they did have issues with tradies they could at least communicate with their clients, rather than having to be chased up. Good communication is the first rule of customer service!! Re: Aveling-Harrisdale-Roof Frame 278Mar 12, 2014 8:53 pm Sorry to hear they're still dragging their heels. At handover I wrote a lot on the feedback form about the lack of communication during the build, I think they should do something about it... Re: Aveling-Harrisdale-Roof Frame 279Mar 12, 2014 11:57 pm Try a word doc attached to an email (more formal) to your CLO outlining your concerns, especially the lack of progress. cc in the person we spoke about and your sales rep. You will get a response. 20 weeks and no roof cover? That's just sad. You've had such a shocking run from the start. First the land and now this.
