where do you do your chopping and cutting? Reason I ask, is that you have your build-in bin right at the end of the island between your sink tray and the wall. I believe you do your chopping on the other side of the sink. Wouldn't it be more practical to have the bin where you "work" to shove the leftover straight into the bin?

Hi Evelin,
I suppose you could worry about that little distance but I think I prefer how benblinkau has the plan - the other units are all balanced, the bin is in the corner out of the way. We are probably not having a bin cupboard, intending to have our bin in the walk in pantry - so will have further to go I suppose we are all different.

Having it there, where there is empty space, sort of makes it all fit nice. If we had it anywhere else one of our larger cupboards would have to be halved, and we would have two smaller cupboards which wouldn't be ideal for us. We sort of ran out of space after we had the wine fridge provision put in.
