Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building the Livingstone 27 with PORTER DAVIS 2Mar 16, 2011 5:00 pm The first time we saw the Livingstone and we decided this is the house we want to build (originally thinking the Lisbon 24). On 26 of Feb went to see the house for the second time and put done the $1000 deposit to lock in the house price, start date in June and the Complete Promo. We have see our consultant three times now to get a final quote but there were still a few things for him to follow up on. Now I’ve found out my consultant has left PD which is a bit annoying as we have spent a lot of time with him organising our quote. I’ve now received a call from my new consultant who I am meeting tomorrow so hopefully everything is fine and we can get the electrical and colour appointment on the way Re: Building the Livingstone 27 with PORTER DAVIS 3Mar 16, 2011 6:04 pm Hey Luke11, That looks like a great house, definitely better with the added rooms, what facade are you going to get? Re: Building the Livingstone 27 with PORTER DAVIS 4Mar 16, 2011 7:39 pm Hey Victoria, We chose the Ormond façade!! Still not sure about which brick yet. Was thinking of checking out some brinks on a real house this weekend to see how it looks as a whole. Was thinking either Amber blaze, Rouge or Berwick Rustic. Want to stay on the category 1 bricks as I feel like we have all ready up graded too many things as it is Luke Re: Building the Livingstone 27 with PORTER DAVIS 5Mar 16, 2011 8:18 pm PD have treated us pretty well so far Where are you building? I think that gave us a bit more money to do things after handover. I hope everything runs smoothly for you! Re: Building the Livingstone 27 with PORTER DAVIS 7Mar 19, 2011 1:44 pm building1 PD have treated us pretty well so far Where are you building? Luke Yeah, I upgraded the carpet to category 2 , was about $280, I should have done category 3 looking back.. but I'm happy I upgraded it from the standard .. Should be exciting for you though! Re: Building the Livingstone 27 with PORTER DAVIS 11Mar 22, 2011 5:47 pm The other day we went to have a look at houses already build with Boral brick category 1 range - Amber blaze, Rouge, Sienna and Jarrah bricks we got a list from Boral with the street addresses. While we were looking at the houses we realised most of the addresses had lot numbers only not house numbers so only end up finding about five houses from a list of 25. Is there a way to work out from the lot number to house number? Luke Hey there have a look at this website http://services.land.vic.gov.au/maps/interactive.jsp Search from there Re: Building the Livingstone 27 with PORTER DAVIS 15May 15, 2011 4:09 pm I haven’t done an update in a while so here we go. Colour, Electrical and tile selection and contract signing have all been done. All went pretty good. After a few days from contract signing we realised we forgot to tell PD to put locks on the bed rooms doors may send an email to see if we can get them in. A few hiccups with some changes in pricing from what we were originally quoted for but it all sorted out. Land still hasn’t titled yet hopefully will be done by June so the building can start on time. I will try and get some picture up and the names of the colours we pick soon Luke Re: Building the Livingstone 27 with Porter Davis 18May 27, 2011 3:46 pm Places Homes teams up to create dream design portfolio Just wanted to share some Porter Davis news with you, we will be undertaking a brand consolidation of Places Homes. The consolidation means that Places properties will be transferred into Porter Davis Homes group, so we will have even more stunning designs under the PD brand. For those of you who aren’t aware of Places Homes, it was founded in 2008 during which time many first and new home buyers discovered an affordable opportunity to build a brand new home with a stunning range of bespoke Places designs. The consolidation of brands will not affect Places’ existing obligations, as all current customer and supplier contracts will be honoured and construction will continue as planned. Also the entirety of the Places staff will be transitioning into Porter Davis Homes group. The rebranding program is due to commence on 1 June and all current Places and Porter Davis display homes will remain open, with Places Homes being rebranded by 1 July 2011. Current or existing Places Homes clients can call their local Porter Davis Lifestyle office for any further information. East – 9709 1200. North – 8467 1200. West – 9363 9555. I’ve received a call from my SS and he said the slab should be pouring in a week’s time which is great. Looks like its all finally starting!! I forgot to mention my electrical cost it was just over $3000. Not bad I think, we didn’t get any down light but lots of power points, tv points, gaspoint, water point and some flood lights and fan for alfresco. The main upgraded we did our roof from tiles to colour bond about $3000, build in 'L' shape desk for the study $660, sliding doors for all bed rooms, extra over head cupboards for kitchen $800, upgraded promo carpet to 'cat 3' and under lay to 'cat 3' and zone heating with bed rooms to be variable about $500.
