Time to start a thread of our own. Been watching others and learning loads for ages now. And it looks like our slab will be poured in the next week or so.
Plans are done, bricks and windows are chosen and cant wait till it all starts moving. Site scrape was done last week and plumber coming on tuesday.
We have chosen a simple plan and plan to make the most of our views.

Love it! Fabulous front to back living areas. Your block looks quite lovely and mostly flat too.

Thank you ladies for your nice comments.

Popped up to the block yesterday and we now have waste pipes done. The problem we have is renting so close to the block that we cant help going up every day. Sometimes more than once. Crazy eh?

My OH ha started a bolg and i will try to post the link on here too. I have no doubt there will be a lot more piccies on there as things progress.

No you're not crazy just excited to see things happen. We lived in a rental about 10 minutes walk from our block and used to pop by almost every day ... my DH would drive me crazy as he doesn't work he was able to walk past with the dog during the day when workmen were in the house but he didn't pop in and take any pics for me ::hyst::

Thanks for looking everyone. And for all the comments.
Well today we cut down the block visits to just the 2. One before and one after work. Haha. And here's what we found;

We have waffles
[ img ]

Not really sure but we are really hoping for the slab pour to be tomorrow. If its not then we have the long weekend and the weather forecast for next week is not good so ::praying::

Well hi neighbour. We are in Camperdown. Do you have a build thread. I probably just cant find it.

Now that the slab is done, We are soo excited. But is it normal to think it looks smaller than we expected??? We are thinking our rooms are going to be tiny??

Anyway, we planted some hedge plants up the sides of our block over the last few weeks, just to get them established a good bit ahead of our move. We went up today to check out the slab and water our new little plants, and the bloody builders have used our brand new hose, which would be fine, but they burst it right in the middle. So now we have to run up and down with a watering can to keep our wee plants alive. Not happy at all.

Hi LesleyW,

:D love your plan, similar to our's. How much land do you have?

We can't wait to be able to start our garden as well, you're lucky none of your plants were damaged- it's always a risk... They don't care what they stomp over.

Hi Lesley W - yes the slab looks small when down - had the same problem when ours was poured - I was measuring the slab using steps it it seemed very small - got worried    it's just a trick of the eye...

Nice location and views you have there - just beautiful. Would be interested to see the elevations of the house as well.

Looking good!!

I was born in Camperdown and have had family down there for years, also Cobden. My sister in law has lived there for past 4 years. Small world. I love that town, so quiet (except for when we arrive!).

Good luck with your build!

Thought it was Camperdown! ;) yep, house will shrink and grow throughout the whole build process....

Our build was finished over a year ago, but you can have a peak at the thread-there is an index on page 1! ;) I locked the thread once we passed 200 pages!
