Do you have natural light (window or skylight etc) in your garage? If not, would you prefer to have it in your next house or are you happy without?

We had natural light via a window in a previous house. This time we haven't but would not do it again.

Yes I have a window in back wall of my garage - about the size of a large kitchen window.

I like haveing natural light and garage not being too dark to see clearly in the daytime without turning lights on.
Window also looks onto back garden - I like seeing my garden when I drive into the garage. :D

Would one of these doors with clear glass be enough or should we go for a window?

Our garage door has tinted opaque panels to let light into the garage (you can see daylight through the door which is the opening at the back of the garage).

Million dollar question is obviously “how much light is in the garage with the door closed?” I have no idea as the door has just gone on this morning (photo just sent to me by the builder) :D

We considered it, but then didn't end up getting one because we won't be spending enough time in the garage to justify the cost of an extra window. Maybe if it were being used for other things too, like laundry or work bench, etc, but it's just a garage, so we didn't prioritise it. Definitely looks great though, I've seen a few with windows!

Hi DoubleDutch :D

We had windows put in our garage in our previous owner build years ago.... but this time around with our current new owner build home we decided to just go with some clear panels in the panel lift door.
We are amazed how much natural light it lets in... very similar to the actual windows we had before.
So glad we went with this idea :D

Wow PAB_34 that door looks amazing!

In our current house we don't have a window and I find it annoying. We have included some windows in our build.

“how much light is in the garage with the door closed?” the answer below!
This was today, a bit overcast and drizzley at the time, really happy with the amount of daylight coming through the tinted panels.

The door is from Steel-Line's "Inspirations" range.

@ PAB_34 Wow!
No windows needed with such a beauty. Garage door has such an impact on the front facade, so it is worth the extra $$$.

Thanks for the pictures.

We have opted for 3 square windows on top of one another to give light where the workbench will be. In addition to that, the other side of workbench has a roller door which will add light when needed.
