Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 14082Jan 17, 2017 11:31 pm Cremorne35 @dreamh0me: we built with stone. What's your question? do you have any photo's of the house as I am struggling with colour combinations eg garage door etc. Are you happy with your choice? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 14083Jan 18, 2017 8:30 am @dreamh0me: send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you a photo. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 14084Jan 19, 2017 12:07 pm Cremorne35 Question to all Cremorne builders: we're looking at different ways to fit out the walk-in-robe of the master bedroom and I've now noticed that the manhole providing access to the roof cavity is in a bit of an awkward spot there. I guess it's important to leave it accessible, so any plans we had of installing full height robes with sliding doors is off the table due to the location of that manhole. We're keen to not simply have some shelves in there to simplify cleaning. Any creative ideas people might have had and are willing to share? Could you move the manhole to the garage? We have advised our builder that we want it there. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 14085Jan 19, 2017 2:02 pm Bordeaux4Guest that would be a great idea, except that ours is a double storey and I'm pretty sure the point of the manhole is that you can inspect the roof cavity... My frame was completed in dec 18 and might start with bricks by Jan 24... We had to wait a while as it was Xmas and new year period and a lot of trades are off. I noticed a few back yesterday though. Your supervisor should be able to tell you when they are back Thanks for that... which stage are u in now? We moved in August last year Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 14087Jan 21, 2017 6:26 pm Hi guys, my construction is close to finish. Building Livingstone house. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 14091Jan 25, 2017 1:49 am Help! I feel like I need backup that this can't be normal. My Land registers in a few weeks. After meant to of registered last year. Finally! Now I've contacted the builder to see what the next process is and a timeframe once registered for the build to start. They said they need to test the soil and survey reports to add to the plan and a typical timeframe is 2.5 months.... This seems extremely long for a build to even begin. What time have others waited for build to start? I'm going to talk to someone higher up about this. Who else is building with Eden Brae? 14092Jan 25, 2017 7:34 am Joie23 Help! Kind Regards, Bruce "Building an Eden Brae Waldorf 50 in North Kellyville" Blog: http://waldorf50.blogspot.com.au That sounds about right. In fact, it could be a very ambitious timeline. It's assuming that everything goes smoothly. We had our land register in December and till the time they were actually on our land (site cut) it took 6 months. Once the land registers, they need to do the soil test, survey etc, finalise your plans and submit them to the council/CDC. This takes about 2-3 weeks. The council takes about 6 weeks to approve the plan (CDC takes less). Then for the builder to start any work on your site takes another 2-3 weeks from when it gets approved. This is provided that everything goes smoothly though. If the council requires any changes to your plan (or you request any further amendments - which is what happened to us) then you need to add more weeks to the timeline since the builder needs to amend the plan and resubmit it. December land registration is not great timing as the Xmas break and in general Jan month is almost gone, nothing happens. My land got registered on 17th December and actual work at site started on 27th May. If they get it in 2.5 months, you will be lucky. Bricklayers don't do roofing. Our bricks finished last Tuesday and the brickies packed their tools. Roofing started today, different team. I built with EB back on 2009.
