We are also building the Hartley 361, hoping to commence soon after signing contracts & everything a few weeks ago. I'm utterly obsessed with this forum, especially anything I can see in relation to DFH and the hartley. We've decided to go with boral nuvo fusion espresso bricks. They were an added cost as Dennis don't provide that colour, but I think we'll be happy with our choice. Anyhoo, can't wait to see more photos soon. Thanks, will be good to see someone else starting it to, not many DFH threads on here and all completed I think. Things are going fast, brick laying is happening for the garage so roof trusses can go up. More photos! not very exciting I have a lot but they are all the same. Doesn't take much to make me happy being that I'm so obsessed with houses at the moment!! I love the look of your bath too. Ours is standard in the main bathroom as I'm not much a fan of taking a bath... Still looks good though! Hopefully our house will start soon... I can't wait!! Looking forward to watching your progress! Thanks Broom! Your house turned our really nice, bigger than your shoe box! I love the 2pac cupboards and your laundry/pantry doors from the kitchen. Hoping my choice in wall colour is okay through out the house, the display house is very similar just hoping it doesn't look to dark in some areas, if not I will be back on a paint brush after we move in. It's exciting watching it go up, so much quicker than our last house that took almost 2 years. Re: Our colour selection - Frame complete, roof tiles starte 28Jun 29, 2012 1:53 pm A bit more progress, roof trusses completed, sarking started going up late yesterday and today, hope to see some roof tiles when I go past later.

Had to look at original plan of the Hartley to see where your bath would go, ours has totally changed, once I started I kept changing things which DFH were more than happy to do. I love doing the colours but then I wonder if it will turn out how I imagined, I tend to find pictures I like and copy. If you have a thread let me know so I can follow your build. Thankyou, we are really pleased with how the laundry/pantry doors have worked out, the joinery company were very against us doing it, glad we stuck to our guns! Don't stress too much about the paint at least it's easily changed down the track. Unless you're married to my DH, I was also worried about our paint choice & he had the "Like it or lump it" attitude Building our custom design "Dream Home" Follow my Build - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46820 Contract Signed - 28/04/11 Siteworks Commenced - 20/06/11 Re: Our Custom Hartley - Windows Going In 32Jul 06, 2012 10:20 pm A hype of activity today, plumbers, roof tilers, builder, window installer and electrician! Bricking has continued on this miserable day, most of the bottom rows in and termite man doing his bit when I visited! Might have some alfresco door pictures tomorrow, after a bit of drama with them someone is installing them properly for us, can't wait! Re: Our Hartley - Brick Pic's 37Jul 19, 2012 6:52 pm Bricks going up fast, the bricks look like they are going to go higher than expected was hoping for 2 rows of corbels around house and 1 extra on the higher sections on the front, will have to wait and see what will work.

How much square metres is it:) Re: Our Hartley - Windows In! 39Jul 20, 2012 9:59 am Hi Mary, yes it is big now we get to wander through it, twice the size of my last house which was 16sq of living! It is 385sqm total, 284 living. Just a tad large but we needed the 3rd garage with how our block is we couldn't put a shed around the back so that added extra and my bedroom kind of grew when changing the plans. I have just been to a curtain shop and lots of windows means lots of $$$ I really want sheer curtains on all the windows facing the lake so no one can see in but then blind for night, not to sure about the alfresco doors though. Re: Our Hartley - Windows In! 40Jul 20, 2012 10:10 am Im soo excited you told me your square meterage because ours is very similar three garage with a tad smaller on the living area Now im excited that ours will be very similar to the size of your home which is massive to me heheheh I love sheer / organza curtains.... I aslo like it installed close to the ceiling which an invisible track look.... makes the room look grander Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down.
