Hey Joe

Well, we have had your roofers leave Kirkham and head on over as we have been told by our spies that as of 11am this morning we can now sit in the garage and the long side of the house and stay dry. There are no tiles yet, but its enough for me so far. We will find out tomorrow just how much roof has been completed. I would be pleasantly surprised to find them working but i highly doubt it :)

Bricks, apparently the side that is half bricked above was 2 foot from the top (above the windows) and the back of the house is complete, this just leaves the front of the house to finish off :D

Mother Nature aside i can almost guarantee we will have an almost water tight house by Saturday :D

The renderers start Thursday so lets see just how quick they are. My guess, half the house rendered by Saturday......

I am going to go out on a limb here and ask you how often you visit your house? Would you mind if we met you there one day as i would love to have a look through it, the detail looks amazing!!!! I wish Petar had more display homes :(

Hey Michelle

Cant explain that one but as you can see lots has happened.

We are 90% sure that we will use Camel Train for the outside colour, Brume for the inside walls, white architraves and skirtings, kitchen will be Dulux White on White cabinets with Organic White Caesar, Graphite glass splashbacks. We want a kitchen will hopefully not age, but stand out against the internal greys we have chosen without looking like we are in a hospital. Vanities will be Laminex Moose in silk finish with organic white Caesar tops

I dont think there is a lot more to be honest.

As for moving, we have started to pack lol Not because we think we will be moving any time soon, but because we have lots of stuff to move :P The contract ends late August/early September (cant remember what date we deemed it to be) but we hope to be in a little before that. Once the house gets the roof it should enable us to keep the build progressing:D

Pics to follow tomorrow :D

Not as much as i hoped has been done but still a lot of work has happened. I am guessing the brickies may have taken off after the rain fell yesterday but oh well, no biggie as there isn't much work left to do now.

All the sarking is done and the battens are in place. Tiles have been delivered so hopefully they get put up tomorrow. Once the roof is on i will be very very happy :)

Renderers are also meant to start tomorrow so the house will look very different again on Saturday.

Time for pics

No real updates required for the moment. Given we were at the house 3 times last week they have all been covered already.

The render should have started today. One of the guys was there on Saturday putting their corner pieces on and said weather permitting the house should be done by this weekend which is a massive effort.

The brick work is almost done. Thats a little behind schedule but it doesnt hold anything up so it doesnt bother me. All that is left is bedroom 4, front door and the garage door area. I am sure that as i type this a lot of that work will be almost complete anyhow.

Electrician has been in touch and he wants to start roughing the house in next week. We still havent finalised this part of the build which i am not really happy with. Its 99% there though which in my mind is enough to make me feel a little better

Kitchen/bathroom vanities/laundry cupboards is an on going thing which i would love to have sorted ASAP as well. This shouldnt be to much longer i hope as all the colours are starting to come together

Colours, i feel we are almost there. Michelle has been a big help. I feel i have been a little rude by not using her examples but her suggestion have pointed us in the direction that we wanted to be in from day one and they have helped us lots, so thank you very much Michelle :D

And to think, the land was only levelled on the 12th of February and 2.5 months later we are almost at lock up stage :D

Geez we had to have everything finalised and signed off before the slab was even laid ... glad you are almost there though - its a nice feeling to have it all locked away.

Petar asked us to have all that before they started but we just couldnt do it. Its been a monumental task for us to get the internal selections sorted and one which i think i would never do myself again.

I am grateful that Petar and Suzana are quite laid back and as long as i dont hold them or their suppliers up, they are happy for us to complete our selections when we are ready :D

Hey Joe

That would be awesome. It must have progressed a little since your last reply here, though you are into the slow stage of the build.

Its been great watching just how quickly Petar and his team have gotten everything done on our house though i am sure that after the gyprock goes in we will find it appears to slow down somewhat.

Thats good to hear about the quality, i wouldnt expect anything less from Petar and his team though :D

I spoke to Petar today and there is lots going to happen at our place over the next 2 weeks.

Thursday bookings - Sparky and A/C is booked for rough in

Eaves are due to be done in the next week

Gyprock is to be started in about a weeks time.

We had our measure up for the window trims today

We meet with Col from Nordane next weekend to go through the kitchen again.

Render should be almost done now

Brick work is 99% we just have the chimney left to do apparently

I am hoping that the roof is finished

We meet with Cobbitty Blinds this weekend to finalise our blinds

Lots and lots happening which is great :D

Cant wait till Saturday to see what the place looks like :D

Petar said yesterday that once the place is at lock up its typically betweek 8-10 weeks for him and his team to complete the house.

He doesnt like giving dates this far out but he knows i wont hold him to it or get upset at him if it doesnt happen, its the only reason he told me. The build contract expires late August, early September anyway so its what we were expecting given all the wet weather delays we have (about 6 weeks worth unfortunately)

Lock up should be in about 3 weeks. Petar does things a little differently as he lets the plasterers in before he gets to lock up stage. He prefers to do it that way as they cant damage anything then.

I am hoping to be in before mid September, and i am confident we will be, as my girlfriend turns 30 this year and we would love to have her 30th birthday party in the house :D

I also forgot to add that my spies have been past the house this morning and the renderes are pretty much done. They were there this morning but it looks like they are just finishing off and tidying up the loose ends which is awesome :D :D :D :D :D :D

4 days to render this house is a massive effort :D :D :D

Yep, a pretty much perfect job as far as i can see. They still have the small timber bits to remove from the top 2 courses of bricks but i can only see it being perfect when they remove them :D

I have to post up some pics but i havent had chance to do that yet. Will do shortly.

We met with Wayne the sparky yesterday and he is in on Thursday to do the rough in of everything. He reckons 3 days and he should be done.

Monday the 21st sees the plaster start and i cant wait for that to happen :D
