t , No wonder you loved it..you were first! Poor mum. She was the one probably running the bath and then cleaning it at the end and she gets everyone's water. Nice.
Yes we put some left over batts around the bath. Heck, why not. Saves throwing them out. I am shocked in all your reading, and love of baths, you hadn't thought of that yourself. Makes sense...
Up here for thinking me!!
Absolutely!! Yep, definitely makes sense. But I am just wondering... is this just one of your ideas or did someone tell you it actually works?! I am just thinking through the logic of batts ... and I am thinking it seems to fit... Heck! I am going to throw a few around my bath too then. Just in the Nic of time

Love to share the bath water WITH him..it is like a spa!!
I read it somewhere...ages ago and did it with mine. Cos I hate a cold bath after about 3 mins, and you have to keep topping it up etc ( I am in there for 2 hrs soaking in my scum) so one top up is enough with the batts.
I have the candles and my mag and off I go. Total bliss. Have learnt to read by candle light, otherwise I have to get up and turn the light on to read after my chilaxing in the candle light etc. can't be doing that.

Done. Totally convinced and won over. The 3 hour bath did it. kiwi, you would love these lid things the Japanese use. If you can imagine a rolling plastic lid (think garage door slats but the size of a bath). So when you are in the bath and want to keep it steaming, you put the lid on and roll it up to your neck then just lie there and mmmmmm. It is winter right now (particularly today) and in my freezing rental I am so missing a lovely hot bath!
ps: you want to bath WITH him? well, where was that swingers reference I thought I saw you posted... ?!

OK, tiler has nearly finished and the stone mason has installed part of the kitchen benchtop so stand back for a photo overload . Some were taken this morning and some this afternoon - yes, two visits in one day!
Main bathroom - feeling happier about this now. Love the mosaic we chose - gotta have some bling somewhere in the house [ img ] [ img ] [ img ] [ img ]
Powder room - a bit cramped but as Kiki knows a proper powder room with wash basin is de rigeur [ img ]
Laundry - with Western sun flooding in. Initially they installed the tub on the wrong side so had to make new top and change the doors around. Still missing one. [ img ]
Our ensuite shower- The big tiles are a dark olive colour and hopefully will sparkle a little more when they are clean. No other photos as nothing else new in here yet. Vanity hasn't been tiled as he ran out of tiles and is waiting for the delivery. [ img ]
WIR - this is as far as they got with the install - kept getting in the tilers way so coming back to finish later this week. [ img ]
Living Room now fully tiled - the newspaper cut-outs are the size of the two sofas we are thinking about. We've fallen in love with some Natuzzi furniture but need to see the final landscaping quote before we know whether or not we can afford them [ img ] [ img ]
Looking at Dining / Kitchen area from Living Room [ img ]
And finally ..... more kitchen photos with stone top on the back bench. It's Essastone New Chinchilla. We went with 20mm in the end - really pleased with how the shadow line shows this off. [ img ] [ img ] [ img ] [ img ] [ img ] [ img ]
That's it for now. Probably some more tomorrow.
Oh and SS said he thinks handover will be 22nd June

Wow, things are moving fast good to see that you are feeling better about the bathroom, just goes to show you need to wait till everything is finished to see the whole picture.
Looking good ... no great!!! We've also got 20mm essastone with a shadow line - it does look smart and classy .... love your white kitchen cupboards and all those drawers

Thanks everyone.
No new pictures today, despite a record 3 visits in one day to see the tiler then the air on guys and then the landscaper. Good progress on the house today - tiling finished except for some grouting, wardrobes half fitted and aircon vents fitted.
Met the landscaper late this afternoon to finalize design. Really not sure I like where we've got to but didn't know what else to do and so felt we just needed to finalize and get on with it. Anyway just after he left to go and finalise our quote, the architect from PJB arrived unexpectedly to have a look at our nearly finished house.
He looked at our landscape plan, summarized very quickly exactly what the problem with the design was and made some suggestions that sounded so much better. Turns out he also does landscape design and knows a lot about horticulture as well. He has offered to do an alternative design for us including sll thr planting and then get his landscaper involved to actually do the work. So we may well end up working with him on the garden which will be brilliant because I just feel he will know how to compliment the house he designed as well as deal with the awkward level changes we have.
Feeling excited about it again although a bit worried about the other landscaper as he has spent a bit of time on the design and costings even though we have not signed anything or agreed to pay anything at this stage.
