Definite feelings of deja vu today. Just been talking to our stone mason about flushmount rather than undermount sink. They've gone away to think about it! I'm not holding out much hope as initially they seemed unsure about what I even meant by flushmount.

Ruth what sink do you have? I know our kitchen guy was concerned about our sink and cooktop, although they look flushmount( ie having to route into the stone) ours are still a drop in but the metal is so fine that it appears flushmount but is actually inset. Hope you understand what I mean, we have the abey barazza lab cooktop and abey cubo inset sink( I think) Is yours definitely a flushmount?? Cause the stonemasons hate them

Hi Gogo, Ours is the Abey Barazza Cubo and can definitely be installed flush mount. Hubby is absolutely anti the drop-in ones even when I showed him how fine they can get. Initial response when we asked was that they wouldn't do it. So I let it go and decided to go with undermount.
Had to phone the stonemason today about something else and decided to ask the question again as they were actually going in to measure up. Said they'd look into it.
Great news is I just got an email saying they will do the flush mount so did a little happy dance when I saw that.

Oh thats good news, I was to scared to agree to flushmount as there is no room for error, saw a very bad example at winnings where we bought our appliances, so decided to go inset instead, can't wait to see yours, maybe I will change my mind Did you have to pay extra to the stonemason? We were originally told it would cost an extra $300 to get the stone cut
