Handover is pretty close for us...well, another month no doubt. The cleaner should be in there in 1 weeks time, so once the clean is done we have inspectioin, so hopefully that Friday or the following Monday. then 10 working days KEYS!!!!
I would have to go back over my thread to find out when we got lock up. I am thinking it was beginning of March?? but I really can't remember! I would think 2-3 months from lock up to keys, depending on how many mistakes the builder makes!

hopefully closer to two months! went out today and we're all locked up and all the shelvings fitted out, internal and external doors all hung =)
Dissapointing we can't get in anymore! But exciting that its getting closer and closer! Haha there's already a few mistakes we need them to clear up.. few powerpoints that were plastered over (we put a powerpoint inside our pantry so we can hide the microwave away.. guess that confused them haha!).

sooo.. I have an update
Firstly - our co-ordinator finally gave us some rough dates! Looks like we should get our PCI mid June, and then look at handover first week of July if all goes to plan!
Wooohoo =D
And there's more! Went out on Mothers day to show my Nan the place and the TILER was working - and we got in!
Pics say it all - but we're getting so close! tiling is going well and when we go out this weekend I bet tiling will be pretty much finished!
Kitchen! Look at the size of that oven hole! [ img ]
More Kitchen - Above counter window was a cool choice / feature [ img ]
And finally another picture from the front just because it looks so awesome! [ img ]
Didn't get a chance to see the main bathroom because that was the room the tiler was doing at the time but it's really exciting just how close we are!?
Has anybody organised security screens? and does the builder ever let you do this pre-handover? This is one thing we really want to do before we move in - especially with the pets!
And we've purchased a couch too - was on sale at domayne! $3k down from $5k!! Large white corner shaped leather with a chaise - amaze
Decided on a dishwasher and reverse cycle airconditioning - these will be first two big ticket items.. then hopefully the french door fridge we want so we can use the water connection in the fridge recess!

Look look look!!! It looks awesome!!!! So close and having a move in date is amaze-balls!!!
Not sure what the builder will think about the security screens, i know SPH is rather strict on the not doing stuff before handover but maybe celebrations if different! I would think you would be able to book a measure for right after handover, but they probably have at least 2 week lead time on installs...

Our builder has let us have people in to measure up before keys. We had our blinds done today...but installed when we get keys. We are having about 10days in between key handover and move in (as we are doing tiles etc afterwards) so not a big deal for us to have to wait. We need to get security door done too...only doing it on one door to start with, but will wait until we are settled before we do it. It is really up to your site supervisor if he will let someone in before handover. I doubt they would let installation occur, but possibly the measure up. Kitchen looks great! your cupboard colours look like ours! lovely!!! will look even nicer when the bluey green plastic comes off!

What colour is your render? Everything is coming together so nicely I bet your modular lounge is amazing too!
Hey JJ's!
It's going to be painted a grey colour called 'London Fog' - at the moment its just the concrete render. and front door will be the same colour as the roof - surfmist.. so all features on front of house will either be surfmist, london fog grey or the brick - will all contrast nicely, can't wait to see the colours on!

I didn't get a good look at your front elevation pic, I was scrolling through on my phone...so the plaster render colour actually looked quite good to me, heheh. Looking forward to seeing the colours come together - We're also having a surfmist roof and door

Hey all,
so the build has progressed well and is rolling along - pretty sure tiling is all finished now which is awesome.. but had a bit of a bad saturday =(
Went out to see the house on Saturday and our site had been broken into! Someone had booted in the garage entry door and come through, then left through the front door and left it wide open! =(
Called the builder and they are sorting it out.. I don't think anything was taken as appliances aren't delivered yet but it is a bit concerning.. Also as we are on a corner block it's really the very edge of the development at the moment - the next stage has a lot more coming on our street but that won't be starting builds for a while...
We'll definately be doing security screens before we move in now! They even tried to get in through our sliding door and snapped the handle off our jason slider
bastards! ah well. I've heard it's pretty common - people trying to steal appliances and such... At least they didn't graffiti or break anything which i'm stoked about - could have been far worse and hey, at least we got to go in to have a peek around (since we needed to go in to close and lock the front door).
Anyone else had theft happen on their site? We're not even living there but we still feel violated!

Everything is looking great , I love your window in the kitchen and tiling is looking great - you are well on your way now !
That's a complete bugger bout someone breaking in - good thing that your appliances weren't in yet - who knows the damage they would've caused to get them out ..When we built someone tried to steal our HWS once it was installed - they either got sprung or it was just too hard but they managed to crack the plastic casing and scratch the roof above it. More recently someone removed our roof tiles and tried to break in thru our manhole- but I must've come home and disturbed them, police and ellenbrook security said its very common in the area ATM. Coincidently there were roof tilers working on the new house over the road the same day - coincidence or ????
We weren't allowed to let our own contractors thru to measure up when we built , something to do with the builders insurance, but every builder may be different.
I too like the cement render colour that it currently is haha
We recently got a quote for security screen on front door only and that was just under $1k ! Let me know if you manage to get a more reasonable quote everyone here raves about a company here called ellenbrook d oors and screen s - might give him a go !
Got any pics of your new lounge ?? hope everything else is going well Z

So I went out Saturday morning for a look and as I drove around the corner got the first glimpse of the fully painted front! We definately chose right! (Except for the planter box.. it's surfmist white but I want it to be London Fog like the render.. but we will see once we move in).
Heaps has been done - and I managed to get inside because the painter was there! Had a good chat too - he lives in the area and does a fair bit on weekends - he actually reported the break in before we did on that same day so thats good! The doors been nailed shut now so I think we should be okay now lol.
Anyway - I'm too excited. Here we go!
Front - Painted facade in the roof! love it! [ img ]
So what's up next I hear you say! Pretty much flooring, touchups, fixing the door, few things to fit such as rangehood and shower screens.
We are right on schedule if not ahead... PCI in mid June apparently looking to a move in date of first week of July. hopefully! We need to give notice on our rental real soon but we're scared of doing that since rentals are so tight a the moment it'll be like "we need to move out.." and they will just be like "leave.. now" lol...! I saw a home open for a rental the other day and there were about 50 people all running to it with their forms all in hand - so glad i'm building now, renting is just painful!
Was on sale for $3k down from $5k for that weekend only in white only. It's on hold in their warehouse for us! =D AND on like 5 years interest free - we make the monthly payments on it (its how we have our tv atm).. store cards are very handy IF you use them right! =D!

Looking awesome! Can't believe you'll be in mid-July! SO EXCITING! I'm so envious
I can't believe someone broke in to your place! That's horrible! Why are people so dishonest? It's disgusting!
And good idea to stay in the rental until it's time to get out... like you, I've seen rentals being snatched up left and right lately so if you've got a good one, hang on to it for as long as you need!

Looks fantastic!!! I like the contrasting render colours you have. think it will look fantastic with some beautiful leafy plants! Great oven too!!! What type of fan did you get? we are looking for an alfresco fan, shocked how much outdoor ones are! have been told so long as it is metal, it should be ok. so the next thing for us is we want a black outdoor one! all are silver! AAARGH! Nothing wrong with silver, but we want black...very hard to find!
