Doesn't it feel so strange to be excited about a tap?

I have put the photo of my tap in my photo book of the build process. It's really the first life you see on the block.

Any progress since then?

So strange! haha

Progress update since then -
Our slab goes down on the 20th! =D All going so so fast.

One of our friends started her process 8 months before her, and we've overtaken.. the benefits of buying titled land eh! And City of Swan were really quick with the approval too!

Hows yours going?

Yay good news on getting a date for the slab. You are already getting better communication from them than I did - I kept asking for date for the slab, but found the slab there before they gave me a date. I don't think they realise that clients like to follow the process and see all those little steps happen.

Keep taking lots of photos, I am printing a photo book of all the construction stages. But I finished it at handover. If I waiting till we finish furnishing the house it will be a while!

I've just been pushing them for progress updates to be honest, I'm probably annoying but at least I'm at the top of the pile for the co-ordinator :).

Photo's are definately a must - can't wait for that slab!

Hey Zarli,

Yeah we figured we would do something at a later stage like adding a half nib wall or something as simple as a shelving unit to divide the entry space up.

It was one of those things which we didn't quite have the money to include at this stage...

Prestart done! I'll put up a few pics of some choices later - very exciting and we only blew the bank by $3k :) Who knew powerpoints were $50 each!

Ours where $130 each ... ::hyst:: lol

Another WA'er coming on to follow your thread. I'm a couple of suburbs West and my brickies have just started so I will watch your thread come along too.

I love how excited we get over the little things. My poor friends keep getting shown pipes and bricks and I can that it's clearly only me (and homeone posters lol) who are interested.

Love your bathroom and ensuite colours. I've kept all my laundry/ensuite/bathroom the same colours too. Mine are greyish but I wish they had that feature tile when I was choosing colours!

not sure when bricks are coming - i'm hoping soon hey!

It's crazy, just in my street and very close by there are about 5 celebration homes builds all happening at the same time - all at the same stage.. I've got a feeling we're all going to piggy back of eachothers builds - exciting! Last week I went one of us had slabs, went yesterday and we all had slabs!!...

Had a bit of a concern at the size of the block - looks so small but of course when the walls go up then you realise how big the house actually is... so hard to judge from the slab!. On our plan's its a beast though - the house takes up most of the cottage block, back yards more like a small courtyard - poor doggy, at least she will get the run down the side of the house :) and front garden when we're home (going to put a gate up at the top of the stairs).

Zarli - did you re-paint the front of your place or has it always been that colour? I thought it was red or something...? In any case it looks awesome, especially with your front garden idea! love the low maintenance! - We're getting astroturf bcos keep grass green out in the swan valley is going to be impossible with the heat of summer!

I'll be in touch when I have some brickies on site! :D

What a lovely slab! Can't wait for ours to go down (probably end of march at this stage ...) - at least then I can stop telling people that our house is imaginary. Getting tired of giving the same response whenever anyone asks, hahah.

I remember when I first went and looked at our slab and I almost cried...the damn thing looked so small lol. once the walls go up its hard to believe your standing on the same slab. It wont be long before your bricks go up, doesnt take them long :)

We have a house going up opposite us, love seeing the progress and remembering how exciting it all was. How often are you guys making it out to site??

RE my house....it was WHITE when they painted the render...i swear the colour sample i chose was a grey colour but it came out white, so the weekend of handover me and DF painted it, the gutters still dont really match but thats as good as we are going to get.

And the front garden is the best for low maintenance, havent touched it TBH. We wanted astro turf but at $110sqm we couldnt afford it ::sad:: We have most of our backyard grass and its such high maintenance, thinking of ripping it up.

Any landscaping ideas? Do you get landscaping included in your block?

Hey Zarli - Yeah in Aveley you get $5k for front gardens which is amazing :) - get to use it on astro turf too so i'm stoked..

We're thinking of a hedge following the limestone retainer at the front to give us a bit of front garden privacy - add a gate and it'll give it a really cool cottagey feel :)

There's definately not much room for grass at the back - that's why we are thinking perfect for a little spa and just a very very small patch of grass and possibly a lattice with jasmine growing up it - keeping it all very cottagey :)

Just had a trip out to check things out - brief moment of excitement when I thought we had window frames on site... then realised it wasn't ours.. wrong colour and they went full length (ours don't go to the floor).. :)

Ahh well.. emailed the co-ordinator, hopefully we see some bricks and proper frames soon :)
