Ok, so I meant to start this thread a little while ago after getting some help on here with our plans, but lots of things have got in the way  ...... so anyway here goes:

02/05/11 - first 'official' meeting with the builders
06/05/11 - contracts signed on the block
24/06/11 - settlement on the block
June/July -> lots of meetings/emails with the builders
12/8/11 - signed building contracts!
27/8/11 - Colour selections
14/9/11 - Move out of our rental and in with my parents so we are closer to the build
22/9/11 - Received building permit in the post AND site works begin
26/9/11 - Retaining Wall construction begins
28/9/11 - Piers drilled and filled
3/10/11 - Retaining walls completed, water and electricity pipes laid, plumbing preparations
6/10/11 - Slab poured! :)
12/10/11 - Frame begins
24/10/11 - Roof begins
25/10/11 - Bricking begins, water and gas pipes in
26/10/11 - House is wrapped, hot water pipes in
?? ::surprise:: need to fill in a few gaps here ::dizzy::

28/01/12 - Floor tiles
31/01/12 - Cornices
8/2/12 - Painting begins
17/2/12 - Kitchen and bathroom cabinetry installed
20/2/12 - garage door installed, final fix of electrics begins
23/2/12 - Landscaping done
24/2/12 - stone benches installed, final fix of plumbing begins
?? missed a few important landmarks this week.... ::dizzy::
3 or 4/3/12 - vinyl planks laid, roof insulation installed
5/3/12 - wardrobe fitout, driveway done
6/3/12 - carpet installed
9/3/12-Handover
Our custom plans:

The block:

The slab:

We are building in regional victoria on a battleaxe block of 1001m2, thus the odd shape and interesting number of neighbours! We are using a local builder who we are good friends with so hoping there won't be too many hiccups along the way! 8)

Ok, so I think that brings everything up to speed! :)

Hopefully I can keep this thread and our blog up to date! :th:

Thanks guys - we think so too! :)

We have been up to the block this afternoon and have set foot on our slab :z: It's great to be able to see the size and layout and really get a feel of things - I swap between thinking that it looks huge to thinking that it's not as big as I thought it would be!

We also found that our frame has been delivered so this time next week we could be visiting the block to walk through the rooms! :D

I have my secrets! (go to http://www.photobucket.com and in 'search ' put in anything you want and then left click your mouse on 'img' I think it is, it will copy it automatically and paste the link directly here)

my pics I use http://www.tinypic.com I find that site easier to upload pics to it

Thanks everyone - it really is exciting to see the slab and get an idea of the size (& how much space there will be to clean  )

Went past the block today and was hoping (wishfully and very optimistically!) that I would see all the frame up but alas.....no action on site at all :(
