Wow I love your flooring.... wish i could convince my partner to have floorboards but he is dead against it! We got a quote for polished concrete... it was in excess of 40K!
Expected, but still a shock to confirm it!!
Looks like you kept relatively well restrained at prestart not adding too much extra stuff!! I will have to make sure I don't go crazy!!!

Okay. Things are good. We got our unconditional finance today! Yay! And I also got a call from MIRVAC letting me know that I won't miss out on our special incentives (landscaping, fencing and $9k money back package), so I am very relieved. Relief! Now I am off to look through our settlement documents (without being able to understand anything, as usual) and talk my partner's ear off about shower accessories, he he he - Ally

We also got our unconditional finance on Tuesday! I can look through that prestart folder with much more certainty now!!! We're away for a couple of weeks over Christmas, so it's probably going to delay us getting to prestart because we haven't really got a chance to look around at any of the tile places and the like. I'm also looking through the settlement docs and wondering what I got myself into...
One question - the price you guys paid to upgrade to the diamond gloss, was it just for the kitchen area, or for bathrooms/laundry as well?
All so exciting! Hope you have a wonderful christmas and new year

Woo, congrats on finance! Prestart is so much fun, you'll love it. It cost us $150 to upgrade to diamond gloss in the kitchen, and no cost for the bathrooms Have a lovely Christmas with your prestart folder! - xo Ally

Got our first home owners approval on Friday...wooo! Still waiting for the documents from the bank to arrive...sigh...they were sent out from the bank head office in Queensland on the 22nd, but we haven't got anything yet. I just want it all done and gone so I can start the New Year with NOTHING outstanding for me to do!

....and we got the loan document yesterday, signed them last night. Delivered back to the bank today, and settlement should be next week. Ugh. I am now sitting back and watching things happen. No more input from me. No more calls, fussing, problems, etc. Over it. Am going to go sit on my vacant block of land and stare into space for a while! - Ally

Congrats on all the loan documents getting signed, sealed and delivered! I remember that feeling, of what else is there to do? There must be something I have missed, surely I have not signed everything, not picked something, I was sure the banks or builder would be calling me and saying it was all a no go because I missed one bit! It felt like for so long you are signing your life away (i don't know how many people have my life now, but a lot!) and then nothing...it all stops! Then a toilet arrives on your block and you are ecstatic over a damn toilet!!!
Can't wait to see it all get started!

Hi Vans, thanks! Yeah, I feel a little relieved and yet nervous that I've missed something. Oooh am looking forward to the toilets arriving! Hahaha! I can't wait either am planning to visit the block every day (as close as I can) and take a photo from the same point, so I can make a time-lapse video of the house going up, day by day...

Yep yep - settlement is today! And would you believe, my settlement agent called in SICK today! My file has been to passed on to another lady, Jenny, who has so far been chatty and lovely and, to be honest, I like her better than my actual settlement agent the one I've been using, Debbie, is relatively useless. She never answers emails or messages, and I never hear about what's going on, plus she gets confused when she explains costs to me...wish I'd had Jenny from the start, which is horrible but true. ANYWAY. Settlement today, yay! Jenny will give me a call this afternoon to let me know that we own our block and Dave and I will be heading out there tonight to take a photo of us on our first home/land
