Thanks Vans! I just have to figure out all the different sections of the outside and *somehow* go from there. And yes, I actually do love the display home photos - I have saved it in with my 'colour schemes' pics
Am home sick today. I was in bed browsing on my iPad, and some survey door knocker person made me get up just for her to ask if my parents were home. I am 25 but according to her, I look 16. Probably explains why this whole house project has included people asking me to confirm my age before signing anything.

Lucky you Ally! I wish somebody asked me for ID to confirm my age!!! Ask Scott Park for the addenda for that home and get the colours from that. Stick with it...if you like it now, you will like it later!

My partner and I have just signed up with Scott Park, we are building the wisteria (piara waters display)
I saw this house about a year ago and fell in love, SPH seems to have the best value for what you get!
Now I am impatiently waiting for drafts, and i want to get my hands on the pre start file!
Your house looks awesome! I love the front elevation! You seem to have lost of handy people to help out too! I work at a window company but they are slightly trickier to supply yourself... but hopefully work will throw in some security screens or something!!
I hope your build goes well! Look forward to the updates!!!

Just spent the past long weekend moving into my Mum's house - she has graciously allowed my partner and I (plus our two cats) to live there rent-free until our new house is ready for us. Lucky, cos it's the only way we can save money.
Have applied to MIRVAC for an extension on pre-approval, as we currently need another 4 weeks for the building contract to be finished + 2 weeks for the bank...when we first did the offer/acceptance for the land, MIRVAC said just to apply for more time when the 45 days run outs. Just waiting for confirmation that it's approved, and then MORE WAITING YAY!

...And new username here now. YAWN. I just finished cleaning our rental top to bottom (SO TIRED) and then cleaned THIS house, plus set up a cat run down the side of the house so they can run and play without getting lost (inside cats). So I am laying on the couch with my laptop doing what I love best - trolling this forum!

You are so lucky to have somewhere to live, rent free, whilst your house is built! We are not looking forward to paying rent, land mortgage repayments and the construction repayments...thank goodness it is in progressive payments, but still, not easy! Come April/May, we will pretty much be paying double the rent we pay! OUCH!!! I will have to tighten up on the spending! Damn it! Make the most of it and SAVE SAVE SAVE!!!

Agree with the vans, paying double mortgage payments is no fun! Plus- living in someone elses home is likely to make moving into yours even more special!

AARGGHH. When we first did the offer/acceptance, it was for 45 days. We were going to need about double that. The MIRVAC lady we dealt with said, it's no problem, just apply for time extension when the 45 days is nearly up and all good. So we went ahead. The 45 days runs out this Saturday (5 Nov) and I applied last week for an extension of 42 days (building contract needed 8 weeks + 2 weeks for the bank, so after 4 weeks, still need 6 weeks). Even though the MIRVAC representative (different lady this time) said it all looks fine, her boss has refused to sign off on it and has now only allowed us another 17 days instead of 42. So we now have to have formal finance approval by the 22 November, when our building contract is only 4 weeks in.... I AM SO MAD. I HATE that they all say one thing, then it turns out to be wrong and another way to screw it all up. ARGH. Now I am having to hassle SPH to get the contract done in 6 weeks instead of 8, and then will need to hassle my mortage broker to annoy the bank and get the loan formally approved in roughly ONE WEEK. I. am. so. stressed.
The card says ''Your new home is beginning to grow'. So cheesy. I am touched, because it is very nice, but a very stressed and rude part of me wants to pout and say I WANT MY BUILDING CONTRACT, NOT POTTED PLANTS.
*sigh* it's a nice plant, though. Have put it aside to hopefully plant in our brand new garden, if I can keep it alive for the next year.

Am already fed up with all the emailing back in forth between my settlement agent, and MIRVAC, and my SPH consultant, and my mortgage broker....UGH. I give up. Going home to bed.

Hi Ally,
My partner and I are also building with SPH (our block is in Aubin Grove) and experiencing the Merry-go-round delay too We were sent our lovely potted plant the day before we had pre-approval (!!) ....very slow progress so far...it's looking as if though we might have to ask for our fifth (yes, crazy!!) finance extension because the building contract is still not ready yet. Judging by your posts, we'll be plodding along in a similar time frame to yourself and Dave - looking forward to reading about your build

I am jealous of your plant! We got nothing for signing any contracts! Oh...no we would have gotten $2000 for prestart if we had recommended anyone to sign up with them. We have since encouraged 2 people to build with our builder, 1 has signed, 1 is in no hurry...but of course too late now! Pressies are always a nice way to seal the deal! Luck you!!!
good luck getting all the paperwork, signings, approvals done on time! It is a pain isn't it! Everything is out of your control, but YOU are the one that is affected! Enough to send you loopy! I think we have all our signing and paperwork over and done with! THINK is a big word though!
Hopefully they can rush it through...I know for us, getting our unconditional loan for our land could have taken 2 weeks, our mortgage broker rang them and asked if they can push it forward, and it was done in 2 days. Well done to my mortgage broker and to the bank! So you never know!!!
We are hoping to have earthworks done tomorrow. We also have our construction seminar tomorrow night. I am really looking forward to that! Things are moving along for us!

Hey JJ's, sorry to hear about your process lagging as well but it's nice to know I'm not alone in my frustration! And thanks Vans you must be so excited! Now I know why people say either you LOVE building, or you HATE building.
