Just an update...an update that there is no update really!
Have contacted mortgage broker to get the contracts/plans to the bank for valuation. Awaiting one more variation (they are so painful!) and hopefully the building licence will be finalised very soon. Our shire is suppposed to be 3-4 weeks...so that time is pretty much there!

Now it is all slowing down... :(

Just handed over plans/contracts etc to the bank...anyone know how long it generally takes for valuation on the home?
And, not that I should be concerned...but has anybody had the bank decline their house as they valued the house a lot less then it was being built for? Do they give reasons why? Do you have a right of reply?
Would you want a right of reply? Do you have to resubmit with builder new plans which then go back to council etc and who pays expense??
I know we will be right...but just thought...what if?!

It shouldn't take too long, I think we were only a week or so from lodging to unconditional approval.

I dunoo bout if they say no, but I'm sure you'll be fine.

Belated congratulations on your land settlement. How exciting!
Sorry to hear it's feeling like progress has slowed; if it's any consolation it's not seeming it from the outside. Hope you get all your news really quickly.

Hopefully not too long to get our approval...been one week...so hoping you are right tinkster!!! :)
It is slow now, but what else can happen until loan approval and building licence comes through! Shire was supposed to be a 3-4 week turnaround...it is now past 4 weeks...trust ours to be delayed!
Just glad to have titles finally though! so nice to own a block of land!!! :)

Still waiting. :( for both the approval and the building licence. I hope this isn't a bad sign :(
Was hoping that we would have at least one of them finalised by now.
The thought of having to pay rent, mortgage on both the land and the construction...I am now realising why people want their home built ASAP...get out of the double payments trap! It is going to be a tough 6 months to 12 months (if they continue to take this long!).

YAY!!! The bank have finally come through with unconditional loan approval! The hold up was they lost the paperwork and wanted it digitally anyway, so then had to track down paperwork they had lost which was not available via email. Thankfully our mortgage broker is just amazing, and she didn't concern us in any of it, chasing it all up herself with the bank and Dales, so we didn't have to stress about lost paperwork!

Now just waiting for building licence, and the bank will settle and we can start the process! YAY! :)

heard from DA...they have contacted the council to find out where the building licence is at...they are waiting for a manager to sign the paperwork...but can't inform them when that could be. so it might be another week until someone can put their john hancock to paper. Ridiculous!

But at least we are on the move! :)

Very exciting...we finally received our building licence today!!! YIPPEE!!! ::lol:: :z:

Our preconstruction coordinator has said that in 2 weeks time the site works and footings will be done...and 4 weeks from now we will have a slab!
So looking forward to all the earth works and our slab party! Well, 3 of us (hubby, child and me...might take the dog too!) celebrating with some sparkling (and juice for one of us!)!!!

Can't believe it is finally happening. Just a year in the making! I know others have a lot longer wait...but we thought we would be in our house already! So it just seems an incredibly long wait for it all to happen. Thankfully, none of our waiting has been with the builder...all of it has been with land developer and council (and even council was 6 weeks, so again, not that long!).

Exciting times ahead for us!!! :D

Didn't realise I didn't have a picture of the Archer to show the overall colour frontage of our house!

We are hoping to have the slab down one month from now...so if DA comes through with their promise...I will be having a lovely birthday present! A nice big chunk of cement!!! <:-P

Meanwhile, I am just looking forward to having a tap and a porter loo there!

Changed our wardrobes today. we are getting one mirrored slider and a coloured slider. We had chosen Aegean Glacier for our colour, then we changed it to fawn...which is pretty much fawn in colour. decided it would be too dark and wouldn't go with the pretty pink room (or at least one wall) that DD will have, and if and when we have another, wouldn't go with any pastels!!! So back to Aegean Glacier...should stick with original colours! o_O] Trust my first instincts!!! Simple is always much better! :)

I have posted these as links before, but now I know how to upload them direct...these are our cupboards and bench tops.

bathroom/laundry/kitchen benchtops: platinum micro
[ img ]

kitchen/laundry cupboards: licorice linea
[ img ]

Bathroom and ensuite cupboards: smokey sapelle
[ img ]

ensuite benchtop: antarctic stone
[ img ]

Even figured out how to get my tile pictures from a PDF!!! Finally! :)

Bathroom tiles
[ img ]

Ensuite tiles ::kiss:: I think the gold in the feature tile is just devine! ::kiss::
[ img ]

Floor tiles for both aren't very clear...they are the same type but the ensuite are slightly darker. They area smooth tile but they have a textured pattern...which I hope will hide water after a shower! :th:

We have the platinum micro tops with the licorice linear doors in our ensuite and it looks spot on. Great choice!
Our floor tiles in our bathroom are a textured pattern called pidgeon (from memory) and it does hide water marks and soap scum.

We have a porta-loo!!! :)
And have been repegged!

All good! The building will start soon!!!!!!

And was surprised to see a pad down across the road...didn't see footings or anything done prior...and they have tradies that have excellent bladder control as NO porta-loo! How is that?

So looks like we won't be the first to be in on our little part of the street!!! Or can we still beat them? I like a challenge, and I am all about competition!!!! It is a race to the unknown owner of the house across the street! :)
