Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 05, 2011 9:32 pm hi, i want to stick my media room windows at the half height look that metricon and plantation have with their feature windows. Whats the general height to go by? my ceilings are 2700 and my doors are 2300, i know the general rule is to stick them at 2300 but i want them at half way so do i go half of the ceiling or half of the doors heights?? ps; the windows are 600mm in width. Any help on this?? Re: 600mm height windows whats the general rule?? 2Jun 05, 2011 9:45 pm I don't know if this helps, we reduced all our bay window height from 2300 to 1400 on the ground floor. we are pretty happy with the result, saved on plantation shutter cost (as it is measured in sqm), we have 2700 ceiling. It cost us nothing to reduce window size. Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing. If you just do a 400x200 footing it will fail in time. At 17m long you need it… 1 3423 My daughter and son in law are about to start building, they are having a 600mm induction cook top and 900mm oven.
