Building a Modified Madison 37. if its your dream table than just get it, because from my experience no matter what you end up getting regardless of cost that dream table will always be on your mind and eventually..and i promise you that you will, you will end up going back to get that table and than you will have two tables and spent more in the end. plus you never know what the future holds and you may rely on their services again and you want to build a good business relationship with them and be able to refer friends and family to them and could get you better deals with them in future dealings..in a odd way you have more to gain by spending the $2k than you do by not taking it and buying another cheaper..although i do wonder how they went and had the table made if their was no signature on a bill of lading, contract or hand shake..if you do decide to buy it let them know the whole story so next time this mistake wont be made. building in oran park stage 21C killara 26 model with clarendon homes Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 15323Jul 02, 2016 7:44 am tony7432 leese Moral question - what should we do?? Thank you. The guy admitted it was their mistake and the fabricator thought it was to be made, not just a quote. Do you think offering to pay cost price would be ok? We were hoping to spend about 1200 on it. Is that too cheeky? Building a Modified Madison 37. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 15324Jul 02, 2016 8:02 am if he admited to it than by all means give it a try you have something to go to the table with. let him know its more than you were intending to spend and so hes not stuck with a $2k table and your not spending $2k you never gave the okay to lets meet in the middle..tell him lets make a deal so were both happy walking away end of the day and we can stay in good terms in future dealings..but dont tell him your price first let him name his price and than go from their..financially you will come out on top because you have not put a deposit down so if he doesnt deal than you can walk away and find another company to commission your table to be made and hes stuck with a $2k table on his floor/warehouse taking up space and he will have to discount to sell..i see all the upside for you here..just stay tough when you walk in and try not to let him see the look in your eyes when you look at the table lol stay strong lol building in oran park stage 21C killara 26 model with clarendon homes Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 15325Jul 02, 2016 8:40 am leese leeleh So our waterproofing and pre lining inspection was undertaken today. Thank goodness I've got an inspector! There are issues with the frames, particular some holding up steel beams which my inspector told my SS had to be fixed. My SS response was he knew they weren't plumb but they'd "do the job" Lucky I wasn't there or I would have had some things to say about that. My original SS was so awesome but now I'm worried about the remainder of the build. So now my gyprocking is delayed viewtopic.php?f=31&t=82062 Madison 37 - site start 16.2.16 Snap! We had our prelining inspection yesterday too!! Such a different experience to you though. Don't have an independent inspector as hubby is in the trade and his friend is a building inspector so they have been keeping a close eye on it at every stage and talking to SS about little details here and there. Which SS has been quick to rectify. SS said yesterday that Gyprocking should start on Monday and it should be about 10 weeks until hand over from then.... getting my hopes up we could be in our new home in 3 months!!!! Building a Modified Madison 37. Seems like a few small things could be done so gyprocking can start otherwise there'd be a 2 week delay the rest of the defect can be fixed after gyprock. So gyprocking should start today! 6-8 weeks was the estimated completion for us according to my SS viewtopic.php?f=31&t=82062 Madison 37 - site start 16.2.16 Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 15326Jul 02, 2016 8:42 am leeleh leese leeleh So our waterproofing and pre lining inspection was undertaken today. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 15327Jul 02, 2016 9:00 am Spart MinandB Spart Arghhhhhh.... we have had half our bricks laid and then not a single brick touched in over 5 weeks. Same happened with the frame, half the frame and then 6 weeks to get the 2nd half done. This is driving me crazy and is becoming beyond a joke. Delays like that are sooo frustrating... If the could only schedule projects to keep moving instead of stopping and starting. Are you a Kdr? Nope, new land in Kellyville so they can't even blame that no one else near us is building so hard to get people out to site. I have a better chance to secure a rental at 12 months I would say... We went the 12 months rent. Gave us a few weeks to move everything out and take out the good stuff left (we sold doors, floorboards, the kitchen etc) then demo guys said it would take a week and took 4 weeks. Now the build is going really well, but we are not going to move in at handover, we want to landscape, driveway, get all the new furniture and curtain etc installed and then move in, with time to clean out the rental... then if we can leave the rental early so be it, also if the build runs over we're not stressing about the rental access and we also got reduced rent rate if we agreed to 12 months instead of 9. Good luck deciding! Building a Modified Madison 37.
