Apparently Clarendon upgrade the slab so you don't need the special bricks I don't want to ask Clarendon either, they'll probably say "Oh yea yea get the upgrade". Lol. It's quite the opposite actually In my case, it was Austral who is saying every time we go to the brickyard that we should have exposure grade brick if the soil is saline. Clarendon on the other hand say that we do not need to upgrade solely for the purpose of getting exposure grade brick. So I go to and fro between Austral and Clarendon. I even contacted the Residential Sales manager at Austral. He said Clarendon is right and Austral will need to better educate their display centre staff. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 2823Oct 31, 2014 6:21 pm Brilliant. Thanks for that mate. One less headache now. Who's building with Clarendon?? 2829Nov 01, 2014 7:40 am Did anyone else get the hilarious email from Clarendon saying their office will be unattended on Tuesday 4th from 12pm for a "communications meeting"? Seriously. Are we all stupid? Hubby wrote back saying how annoyed their staff will be that their big meeting is on at the same time as Melbourne Cup... Got the call this morning that piering will commence today! We are building at Georges Fair Looking for recommendations on which company to use for building inspections - can you guys suggest please? How much do they roughly cost? Thanks in advance... +1 for this! We are building at GF as well KK! @denot - Hey there neighbour! Are you in construction too? Looks like there's no recommendations so far on which company to use for independent inspections... Have you thought about this? Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 2834Nov 01, 2014 11:47 am Has anyone copped a price review increase for going over their 6 months from deposit date? Ours is in 4 weeks time and our land should register in the next 2 weeks and so our plans will be in council. Have bank approval with evidence already and they want to slap me with a $3200 price increase on the 1st December even though we could be a couple weeks away from approval. Anyone refused to pay these before?? We already paid $2k for going 2 weeks over the 75 days to do soil testing deadline.. I think they are being a bit greedy.. They havent given us a even a single day extension without charging us thousands. By the way this is in QLD. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 2837Nov 02, 2014 6:51 am Jayjay they were an upgrade and cost about $6800 for the entire house. So worth it for me. We have no render on the house so we had to make sure our bricks look good! We just had houspect do the frame inspection and all was good. Ss said bricks should take 3 weeks and roof 1 week. So exciting for every one with construction happening. For those in admin - stick with it - it's well worth it! Built a Fairmont 35 in Pennant Hills. That being said I much prefer the bronze. It's a great colour that you can make look brown or grey depending on your window colours. We really wanted the grey dark look and it hasn't disappointed Built a Fairmont 35 in Pennant Hills.
