Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4541Aug 26, 2014 9:47 pm Thanks for the very detailed response Filthyfil!!! I think that is what is frustrating me. Basically smashed my sales consultant over the past couple of months requesting things to be added/removed from the quote based on everyones feedback on this forum . From there, we have a firm idea of the structural changes we want and have had them added to the quote also (even so much as the stair case - as per Berwick Waters Waldorf display). The only thing I need from the Tender appointment is an idea of the exact prices, not the quotes provided. haha As for the colours/lighting configurations, my wife and I have been spending months documenting how we want our next house to look and have a very good idea of how it will come together (only thing needing help with is the bathroom colours). Once everything is finalised at tender I'll be sure to setup a Blog and post my setup etc. My Waldorf 48 Blog: http://gisbornewillows.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4542Aug 26, 2014 9:47 pm knyght Thanks for the very detailed response Filthyfil!!! Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4543Aug 26, 2014 10:02 pm Hahha....hammering your sales consultant with changes is norm......they are so used to it...all I can say is my sales rep has been very patient with me. She's been great with after sales service as well... Just note that not all prices will be firm during Tender Stage.... You'll still need to factor in a substantial amount for the electricals / colors / flooring If you want your electricals / lighting close to mirror the displayed...be prepared to allow $20K I can't remember how much I spent on colors.....not brave to look at it to be honest... lol Flooring 600x600 porcelain tiles through out most of ground floor and all wet areas Home Theatre/Study and Family. Cat 5 carpet and underlay offered All totaled to.....$25K This does not include flooring for upstairs....doing it after handover.. IF you want a copy of all the pricing I've received to date as a guide ....PM me and I'll; send you the spreadsheet Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4544Aug 26, 2014 10:20 pm Filthyfil Flooring 600x600 porcelain tiles through out most of ground floor and all wet areas Home Theatre/Study and Family. All up about 24k Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4545Aug 27, 2014 11:09 am thats pretty cheap, i was quoted $32K for 600x600 porcelain tiles to downstairs (excluding some rooms: theatre, lounge, study) and floor to ceiling tiles in the ensuites, and roughly $5K for Cat 4/5 carpet, few hundred dollars for Steplux underlay. This was in addition to the $11.5K flooring pack... We're now going to be doing our flooring (and floor-to-ceiling tiling) after handover... Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4547Aug 27, 2014 12:26 pm Hi Filthy, Just checked out your blog and bricks look great. I recall you saying they were Newport. Not sure if my eyes are failing me. Did I notice slimline bricks being used? If so which slimlines are you using given they are not available in Newport (are they Greythorns?) I noticed some edges and corners had crumbled a little, anyone else get this issue? Did PD fix it up for you? Also noticed two holes in the centre of my slab, seemed deliberate but not sure what they would be for? No pipe in them, just holes in the slab down to the styrofoam, maybe a few cm deep. Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4555Aug 29, 2014 2:28 pm For the two holes, have been told those are for the Powder room toilet and shower (added shower in our build), and that what I thought was styrofoam is actually the 'smart pan' they have installed, and its standard for them to break the surface of the slab to expose those for the future. Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4556Aug 29, 2014 2:44 pm Update from SS

Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4559Aug 29, 2014 2:59 pm Hey Sogg,
We had a bunch of variations on the Clipsec Electrical & Argus Electrical going back to June The PCV PD sent through previously by PD only considered the Clipsec Electrical variations... They basically forgot to include the Argus Portion. They acknowledged the mistake and luckily we just caught it in time so the roughins can be done.
