So, here we are at the end of the week and nothing much has happened. The landscapers have built the retaining wall but we had a mid-build panic regarding the easement and had to get the private certifier out for checking etc etc. Lots of tears from the worry even though everything turned out to be ok. Not a nice day, but a good result at the end of it thankfully.
Now we are stuck in a wrangle with our neighbour over a shockingly bad solicitor we engaged upon their recommendation to update the titles for us both. He has not shown us any evidence of work carried out on our behalf yet sent us an email requesting payment of $600 (no invoice, no details). When we ask him for details he just keeps telling us it is for future costs and work already done and letters sent on our behalf. We have requested a copy of this so called letter but he is unable to provide it. We terminated his services and said we will not be paying for anything without a proper detailed invoice. His really professional reply was along the lines of: "I will continue to charge you $38 for every email I attend to". No fee breakdown or anything. He had never even told us he would charge us $38 for each email. Have never come across somebody so totally unprofessional and wonder whether we should report him - T - any ideas? We suspect he is charging us for work carried out on our neighbour's behalf because the only letter we have seen is a letter he wrote to their mortgage company. Anyway - a load of stress we dont need right now. So I am checking out for a while and DH will have to deal it. I've got babies on the mind and need to focus on that for the next week!
Garage door and alarm installation are scheduled for Monday and no idea when anything else is happening because nobody is replying to my emails. It seems the end was in sight and then it was snatched away from us.
So I hope everyone else has a good week anyway. The next pics I post will be of small (actually, I think this one is turning into a boombalada, so not so small) people and will have nothing to do with building. Be warned!
Take care Nina, Don't stress on the little things, time to sit back and relax for the weekend, ready for the big day, week, month, years ahead. Will be thinking about you on Monday and can't wait to see some photos of your beautiful new edition..can't wait. Sending hugs and kisses to you and your nearly here boombalada.
nina - in case you aren't checking in, I will give you a call. I know an excellent solictor (offices in Gladesville and city), we use him for all our conveyancing, wills etc. As for the other lawyer - if you threaten to report him to the Law Society that should shut him up. You most certainly can request an itemised bill to verify costs. Will talk to you soon.
Here she is! Born 3.51pm 9th July, 3.65 kgs ( i predicted 3.7!) or 8 lbs, 53 cms long. Known as Missy for now - more work needed on the name front tomorrow! Both mum and bub feeding well. Now to catch some sleep......
Oh she is absolutely beautiful a little porcelain doll. Congratulations to you and DH Nina, I don't know what to say she has taken my breath away. Now I want to meet you to have a cuddle...(of bubs that is ) Enjoy, relax, sleep xxx
