Oh that's not good ... a problem shared is a problem halved ... even if you did lose the words
_________________ For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!!
Nothing new to share mclaren, just seriously disappointed that 2 whole weeks have passed and we are barely any further along. Actually starting to worry about being in by September now.
Here are some pics DH sent me. Can't even get excited about them since the jobs should have been completed a long time ago. [ img ] [ img ] [ img ] [ img ]
Sorry to hear its all on the go-slow at the moment. I'm sure you have yours hands full with feeds n sleep routines. Babies sleep so much at the beginning so may not be as busy after all. Have you spoken to your builder and reminded him of the time line he set out that had you finished x amount of weeks ago. I'd be cranky too so vent away right here where you will be supported.
Such a long list still to go GoGo (wow my iPad knows who you are, I typed goo and it auto erected to GoGo!). Will hopefully talk to them next week. And thanks re DS! Mr centre of our universe is about to get a big shock to the system as we go home today, so he'll have some competition now! Right, back to packing.....
I am sure it won't be September hand over. Do you still need me to drive past and take pics or will you go there yourself today? What is actually left to do now... carpet and floors?
Oh great you have the whole mummy loves you both stuff to deal with My DS, who had just turned 2 was a delight when DD was born, until he kicked my DD, wanted to kick her back to hospital, just don't run after her like a ball mummy
Thanks T, sorry didn't get to reply earlier, but no need for pics as DH went to site earlier in week and we went yesterday. Thanks for kind offer.
Vess, yes will need to get an idea of new timeline from builders this week. As everyone keeps telling me though, they would be progressing if they could - it's not in their interests to drag it out. Doesn't really help with my frustrations though.
Hi there Jodge and thanks, we love our little puddleduck!
I don't know how many of you had to use hydraulic engineers but I would love to write a few harsh words about the guys who designed our systems. Yet another problem with the design, with a driveway drain that makes part of the driveway undriveable. We are going to have to help our neighbors make objections to council so the design can be changed without holding the build up through another section 96. Yet another issue to deal with. Yawn
On that note, DD has finished feeding so back to bed
Look at that ticker - only 2 weeks until we hits 8 months
DH went to site this morning and was pleased to find the plumber back from his hols and had already installed the powder room sink, all remaining taps and the loo in the ensuite. He was doing the gas bayonets as well apparently.
Discovered the cupboard door handles had been installed incorrectly in the laundry (vertical instead of horizontal) so we made a quick call to ensure the same didnt happen with the bathroom vanity handles.
Corinthian are set to deliver new interanl doors (as ours are warped and need replacing) on the 20th and 23rd....then they will need painting, installing etc.
Upstairs floors had all been sanded back. Wish wsh wish we had put sound insulation in them..... oh well.
Received further clarification on this driveway issue and its not as bad as we were led to believe (something was lost in translation). Just need to speak to the private certifier to see if we can amend part of the design to exclude a curb drain down the first part of the driveway. Otherwise the neighbours will lodge their objection, which suits us fine - so long as it doesnt delay the build.
Think we'll take Eliza for her first site visit tomorrow - mum was too busy cleaning the eternally messy rental to go today! Thats if anyone will be there tomorrow - still no idea when the following remaining things are planned for:
Wardrobes and linen cupboards fit out Bathroom mirror kitchen splashback bathroom accessories rangehood deck stairs and balustrade fly screens windows check and touch ups moroka and paint to deck piers and OSD tank additional power point and external deck light (I think they might have forgotten this) And is there anything else I havent thought of?
Yes, you have forgotten that it is only one week since your a C section & you should not be so busy cleaning your rental, you can live with a bit of grime, you should be resting up as much as you can. Unless by 'mum' you meant your mum is there helping out?
ha ha - no Ryan - mum is me! I feel great, healing really fast and I think the more light stuff you do the quicker you heal (personally). It seemed to work for me last time. We need some order restored before DS gets home and we're back to square one again!! Thanks for caring
"There are no points for being a hero" is what my mum said when I had my c-sec 14yrs ago but being idle is hard ro do for active/get it done people so try to do just half of what you would normally do. Don't strain your abdominals by stretching too far.
I just wrote a list of things to be done on my house, just need to cut and paste the majority of yours as well. Take it easy Nina, no one is interested in seeing your dirty rental save your energy for the new home. And give Eliza a big kiss from me
