Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 05, 2011 1:42 pm So to put our crossover in, we're being quoted $2500 for 22sqm. Being cheap, I want to try reduce those costs even more. They are getting a bobcat to come in, which increases costs by $500 or so. I'm assuming the bobcat is to dig a little hole the area of the driveway, so that they can pour in the crushed limestone, and then top it off with pavers sand, level it up and then pave? I'm happy to do the digging myself, as I'm going to be putting in soakwells soon. If someone could run me through the basic preparations, I would like to give them a go and hopefully bring the costs down. We did our own crossover for our last house and the council told us what depth needed to be dug and so on. You'll most likely need a permit too. They sent their inspector out to check the excavation before the concrete was poured as well, so make sure you allow enough time for that before booking your concreter. Assuming the structure of your cabinetry is good then I would DIY everything as follows: - replace your counter tops entirely, - replace all drawer runners with soft close… 1 4784 Re my second point – yes exactly. And often it may take additional time if the manufacturer recommends no more than X meters… 3 5652 |
