VJ, post some close up pics on here. Someone should be able to give you advice on them.... I'm sure some cracks are normal As long as they are not massive ones??? Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 62Jan 13, 2008 8:29 pm We forgot to bring the camera yesterday when we checked the slab.
The cracks are definitely not massive.. very fine only. two of them were around 1m long (to the left and right side of the garage). the other one is quite long, started around one foot from the middle front of garage up to the rear! wonder if we should mention our concern to our CSR.. or is it normal? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 63Jan 14, 2008 8:22 pm There was supposed to be progress today...
but nothing... nothing at all! Getting frustrated now.. they stopped a few days before the Christmas holidays... but up to now they're not yet back! yes, i know it's good for our slab... 3 weeks of curing.. but... they should have told us so we won't waste our time driving past our block only to find out that nothing happened. waste of time and petrol. so what's the next move? complain? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 64Jan 14, 2008 8:35 pm You know what VJ, i'd say just call your CSR and say happy new year, how was your break blah, blah, blah.....oh by the way, can you give us an update on when they will re-commence our place??????
It'll work!!! Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 65Jan 14, 2008 8:49 pm sorry to hear that M's tradies arent back in your side of the town. Ours got back last week and we also met the CSR regarding noggins for dryer etc..ours is however progressing v e r y slowly! could be another 2 weeks for frame completion.
and yes, we live 2 streets away from the site so everyday after dinner we walk down to check the progress. Phoenix's suggestion is good.. get in touch with the CSR good luck Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 66Jan 14, 2008 9:00 pm Quote: You know what VJ, i'd say just call your CSR and say happy new year, how was your break blah, blah, blah.....oh by the way, can you give us an update on when they will re-commence our place?????? It'll work!!! Thanks for the suggestion.. we'll do that tomorrow. CSR rang me on the 7th to greet me happy new year.. and told me that they will re-commence on the 14th... and then I said, 'oh, i thought on the 7th' (based on her last email which we misinterpreted.. hehe). CSR is actually on leave up to end of the month, according to her out-of-office reply when I emailed her last week re: independent inspection. Another CSR is monitoring her email on a daily basis though... and she responded kindly and asked to inform them early on the stages when we would have independent inspection. Will email or call that other CSR tomorrow and see what happens. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 68Jan 14, 2008 9:35 pm Hey VJ,

Frame due to be delivered on Monday Should I suggest patience like you to me???? Hell no!!!!!!!!!!!!! ring the big M and ask when the hell they will be back on site (in the nicest possible way of course Phoenix's suggestion should work nicely. Saw the house being built by M a few streets away from where we're living right now... they are progressing! Probably our tradies are working there! Quote: VJ we have hairline cracks in our slab.. Kevin had a look and he said their normal and nothing to worry about. If they get larger then yes a worry. Clath, Good to hear that all those hairline cracks on our slab is nothing to worry about... but it would be worth telling our CSR that we did notice those fine cracks. At what stages are you using Kevin? AS advised by most people here, we're planning to use his services during pre-plaster and pre-handover stages. But we haven't given Kevin a ring.. hehe... should ring him this week. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 71Jan 15, 2008 10:08 pm VJ Yeah kevins back from holidays he came down to my house today and checked the framing. which was passed by the builder .everythings good but had a few minor issues with the house that hes going to report on. Its worth getting him for your own peace of mind .
He inspects when bricking starts. Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 72Jan 16, 2008 7:06 pm Clath, good to hear that Kevin's back.
My husband rang the CSR today only to find out that building works will re-commence by end of January to early February. So, we might give Kevin a ring next week or so. Why???? Even though the site supervisor had came back from holidays, there's no available tradies to do our framing at the moment. Hubby mentioned about our neighbour, building a single-storey house with M, who has got progress since Monday. She said they have different tradies for single and double-storey houses and at the moment they lack tradies for double-storey houses like ours. Well, we have more time to check other people's progerss now... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Hopefully those pesky "M" chippies will make themselves available sooner rather than later... Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 74Jan 17, 2008 7:58 am VJ, we had the same problem with M we waited 3 weeks to get a chipy, did you get the promo with higher ceilings, we did, so because of this they built ours from scratch not just put up ready made frames.
Hope you get some movement soon Adam Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 75Jan 17, 2008 8:26 am if it's any consolation we're also waiting for work to resume on our house (slab was also done before xmas), we've been told the frame is booked for mid-next week.... Just received a call from the new CSR (our CSR is on leave); she seems to be nice . She explained again that they need someone who's expertise is framing for double-storey houses. This is to ensure that we get the quality that they promised... and that they've already factored in to our construction schedule this kind of delay. Oh, by the way, she called because I emailed her requesting for an advice when there is possible delay. Anyway, we've calmed down now.. we'll just start thinking about our landscaping, curtains, carpets, floor tiling and driveway. So much things to do after handover. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! We got the Mstyle Platinum promo... but prior to that, we me a sales consultant that was offering even more and we got a copy of the promo. When we finalised the promo, we showed him that promo and it included other stuff like 20mm stone benchtop to all areas except laundry, fly screens, etc. So on top of the Mstyle Platinum promo, we got additional stuff. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping!
