Phoenix, Pretty stressed for someone that is only at the very beginning of the process. You are going to be exhausted by the time you are finished.
Only way that I see for them to get your slab down is to deny another ahead in the queue. Not very nice IMO. Perhaps everyone should do it?
3XB, that is only one option, there are others, like getting the concreters to work an extra day, or getting another concretor to do it, or being efficient in business or what about JUST DON'T STUFF US AROUND, either way, i'd rather be somewhat stressed and be on top of the building process that have it dictated to me.
I am not one to let things slide - so we'll see what happens.

Phoenix,
Sorry to hear what's happening to your site start.
I was out yesterday (daughter's Christmas concert) and didn't log in.
On our part, we went to our block last night (after the concert) to make sure it's clean before they start today. We were so happy to see a bulldozer on our block! They even removed the rubbish dumped by some irresponsible neighbours!
We were so happy last night... only to find out today that you're not.
Good luck and keep us informed of any developments.

Wow, 12 months after starting and I find this site one week before hand over!
P, I hope this is your ownly setback... but be prepared for more. I have spent the last six months stopping my wife from going and beating up the builders... (not with H3nley, but they all seem the same)

Thanks for the welcome.
Lyndhurst with Landmark. I hope it goes smoothly to, but based on previous experience I am not holding my breath. I thought I went into this build process with my eyes open, man was I wrong.
I have most of it documented on a website so when I get my server back up and running I will have to publish the fun!

OK, firstly i would like to apologise to members for this thread being temporaily removed from the forum.
Some comments that have been made by members have been removed to avoid further action. Jason has kindly agreed to re-instate it but i will keep my eye on my comments and those made by other members- to safeguard the longevity of my thread.
I know that a few of you have been wonderng where the thread disappeared to and what the outcome was, by the PM's i've been getting!!!!
So i would like to update all of you on the progress of our site start.
14/12/07 - Site cut (fantastic at least we will see something before Christmas)
7/01/08 - Set Out
8/01/08 - Drains
9/01/08 - Underground Power
10/01/08 - Concreter to start
Initally we were told a mid Jan site start, now we will have the slab down by mid Jan.
I must say thank-you to the Sales/Construction staff and H3nley management for working through our little hiccup and coming up with a positive outcome..
Great Job H3nley!!!!! Thank You.
Thanks also to all of you who have been offering words of encouragement, as well as Jason from Homeone for supporting all of us as we endeavour to build our dream homes, for giving us this podium to voice our concerns. and an avenue for these concerns to be resolved.
The power of the internet is wonderful..
Anyway, stay tuned for more pics and more laughs as we get back on track with the building process.....
Hopefully it will be smooth sailing from now on.....

We asked about getting the electronic electricity meters - the response was - don't know - we only use the M3 (std) models. No explanation, no option to change it to the newer model was offered.
Secondly we asked if we could change the light switches to the more flush style that is now available. Too late!!!! The job has been through ordering so can't change it now. I'm sorry but i thought that is what Variations were for?????
I am happy to say that the above issues are now being addressed by our builder. We have accepted the additional pricing on the flush style light switches and will arrange that with a post contract variation.
Also they are looking at the different types of electricity meters for us and hopefully we will have an answer next week.
I have to admit the response has been great, since our little hiccup with our site start date. I would hope that this level of customer service would continue throughout our build process....if so, we will be happy little home owners.

SURPRISE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow... just came back from our block ( i thought that i'd go and check if they had earth moving equipent there ready for tomorrow and guess what???
They'd already cut the site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And we recieved a bonus toilet too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooooo very happy,
Thanks H3nley you continue to exceed our expectations. The site cut was planned for tomorrow.... it wasn't done today so it must have been earlier this week sometime.
On a sour note though, we have a Carlisle Home being built 2 houses down from us and as i walked onto our block, this poor little apprentice came up with his bucket...
The conversation went a little something like this:
Me: "Hi", "can i help you?"
Apprentice: "No just getting some water"
Me: "Why don't you use the tap on your building site!"
Apprentice: "The tap there is broken and you don't pay for it anyway, the builder does"
Me: "Sorry mate, we do pay for the water i know cause we get the bills for it and you're not building that house with our water..."
Anyway he trotted off and didn't i get a look from all the tradies on site - they were on the 2nd storey roof as you can see in the first picture.
Anyway i'll get back there and put a padlock on the tap in the next day or so, so their thieving days are nearly up.......no doubt they waited till i drove off to replenish their water supply anyway.

Yeah thought about it, but it's one of me against about 10 of them....
Next time i'll bring my padlock, then they have no choice.....
Those tradies sure were a piece of work, that's all i'll say.

Hey Phoenix I'd have to agree. H3nley is really raising their game for the pre-Christmas break! Our house this week alone has seen the architraves installed, the doors delivered and hung with trim installed around the doors, the roof tiles put on to the garage, the bricks cleaned (that wasn't supposed to happen until next week), the stairway installed (wasn't even in our weekly update) and the kitchen installed! We still have Friday to go! Well done H3nley you continue to exceed our expectations as well, and the work looks really good. Very professional and for the most part, a pretty neat and clean site too! I'll post new pictures on the blog this weekend of all that work, (providing I can get in some how).

Hi Bryan, I was told that H3nley do not "slow down" prior to Christmas, but it seems that they are speeding up at your place!!!!
GO H3NLEY GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic news, on many topics it seems. Heartfelt Congratulations to you and Claire. What a lovely X'mas pressie ...... to have the house coming together so quickly, that is........
I really like the house opposite you, I normally hate blue houses but that one is quite funky! Don't know if you'd probably get sick of it after a while, sometimes when they're that modern they date really quickly.
