Thanks barbs, we love it too, after looking at ALL those houses this is so the one we wanted

PB- Theres just under 320m2 under the roof, with around 250 of that being living, so its HUGE, around 80m2 bigger than what we're in atm so I can't wait

The spa in the ensuite is DH. I don't think we need it, but he wants it, and letting him have that gets me all sorts of leverage for the kitchen :)

Hi Tinkster

I have just caught up on your thread. Love your plan.

Have you received your final plans/contract yet? Have you had pre-start booked? How long before your block is titled?

Once you've got titles through and you've had pre-start, you'll go to construction. They can start very quickly once these two items have been ticked off.

You may get a start before Christmas. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Cheers

jbarry-no final plans or anything yet, but our salesdude did try to call us twice last week while we were away, I'll give him a call tomorrow. Titles are due mid to late october, so i'm REALLY hoping sometime in the next couple of weeks.

camy- thanks, we love it too. I'm SO ready for it all to start!

Not happy jan.

Email from the builder that developer sent THEM (not us) an email saying titles have been pushed back to November :(
Confirmed by phone with sales rep saying helpful things like "its a paperwork issue, the blocks are totally ready to go" which is even more frustrating!

Spoke with builder who is going to arrange for a survey and stuff to be done asap so we can get most of the paperwork done before titles, I'm even going to push for prestart and see how we go

But kinda killed my day, not liking chances of slab before christmas now, and will be driving daughter to school and back every day next year, the NEW school that is 2 mins from the NEW house. ::angry::

Oh no! Is it the council holding things up with the paperwork? You've got to wonder how/why they keep pushing these things back.

I would push for prestart - did you get onto your sales guy about the plans and contracts though? Cos you'll need to sort those before prestart.

Yeah, a council thing apparently.

Yep, contracts and drawings are nearly done. I told him they could survey the block and that other builders already had signs up and he asked if a sign would make me feel better, I told him YEP and he said hed get on it for me :)

Peet. You'd think having sold us the block in JUNE they'd have done all the paperwork by now.

Lol at doing the slab before titles!

we originally had the spa in the bathroom but my partner thought I'll never use it..so we ended deleting it and getting bigger WIR instead hahaha

Thanks saemiseon, I'm still not sold on the spa, but nevermind!

camy- I dunno, its not like they are new at this, and that the blocks needing titles should come as a shock

I'm just annoyed cos a few weeks now will set us back anywhere from 4-6 weeks given the christmas shut down and stuff. Total PITA

Ok, so today we met with the interior designer to do our colour selections

It took just on three hours and left me exhausted, but am really pleased with the choices

so, without further ado

kitchen

[ img ]

Bench- essa dusk
Cupboards- polytec alabaster gloss
silver kickboards
splashback- glass- frothing mocha
rear of island- laminex seducitve limba in crystal gloss
[ img ]

Scullery/laundry
[ img ]
Benchtop- polytec snow fabrini
cupboards- polytec alabaster gloss
silver kickboards
splashback- white brick tile, laid as shown
laundry to have the same floor tile as both bathrooms (shown below, forgot to get it with the others!)
scullery will have same wooden floor as rest of house (as yet undecided!)

Kids bathroom-
[ img ]
thats the floor tile, will be in both bathrooms and the laundry for continuity!
vanity and benchtop both in smokey sapelle

ensuite (the scary one!)
[ img ]
cabinets-
[ img ]
floor as above
wall behind mirrors, into shower, over bath to be in the batik patterned one
Rest of walls in black gloss, to ceiling (the tile thats on the table in the pic, its gorgeous!)
benchtop and cabinet in ebony macassar crystal gloss, with cupboard edges in silver, to tie in with taps etc
I LOVE the look of this, but every time I think about it, its a little scary, I'm going to get 2 huge mirrors in a silver frame to go on the wall. We saw a display with the same laminex in the kitchen and its stunning en masse, but I'm still a little chicken, but it was the one thing we both LOVED

Plus we did our exterior colours as well, shown here
[ img ]

For gogo- Main colour is rock quarry, portico is stone drab ::smile::
Main render in lighter colour, portico and recessed wall (walk in robe) in the darker colour
Roof is lighter colour- which is evening haze if memory serves and gutters and fascia in darker colour, which I think is jasper
Window frames in the silver
calais bricks as in the picture, so the front render isn't HUGELY different to the rest of the house

We also picked a colour for doors and door frames, but I cant remember that one, something snow i think!

BIG morning!
Our drawings are done, since he had a copy, I've spoken to our sales dude who tells me they should be out to us this week, and we plan to do prestart before we get titles so that we can just go once we get titles!
Very exciting to finally see how things are going to look.

The dude kept trying to talk me out of a white kitchen, I just refused to budge!
::smile::
