Hi all,
my apologies for jumping in, we are signing with Switch and are feeling the pain with the paperwork delays. i have been following what forums i can find on Switch and everyone's experiences, but nothing has been mentioned regarding the switch packages IE carpet, art etc also did you all have the decorator consult before pre-start.
i have a million questions....
we are hoping to sign the contract within 2 weeks, no one likes to think they have it wrong or could have/should have....

cheers

Hi molly2

How's the paperwork going? Ours took about 6 months. Which plan are you building?

We have asked numerous times for info on the Sw1tch Select packages, however the only thing we were told was that they have arrangements with certain suppliers and we could have the contact details of these suppliers if we wanted. I got the impression that we would have to contact them and arrange quotes etc ourselves though. We still haven't received the contact info despite asking for it a couple of times.

Re the interior design services, there are 3 options to choose from - Tile & Laminate, Tapware & Sanitary, and Colour Board. These are all $300 (as of January). They say they can also customise an interior design service. We didn't bother with these.

Good luck, let us know how you go.

Hi

We are building the switch ten70, although very modified. We are yet to finalise our documentation, prestart was seven weeks ago. We have going at this now since the start of March!!! It seems very messy the convoluted and drawn drafting process. I wish we could just sit down with the drafty for a half a day and we could get it all sorted.

We asked about the "design service" and even went to book a session, but the lady doing prestart told us not to worry about it and she was a qualified interior decorator and that she can help if we needed any help. The consultants at the tile places will also assist with selections, as will the consultants at the laminex shop.

We went to the display home in baldivis today and the SR told us that the build time at the moment is about 5-6 months.

Thank you both for your reply, we have only been going through this for 5-6 weeks now, but it has been completely unnecessary due to the incompetence of the SP, we knew what we wanted and made only minor changes (apart from the elevation) with a lot of upgrades.
it is frustrating as Switch are supposed to be the BMW of builders and profess to be equal to W&B but the service is on par with Content!
i will be contacting the office today and will no long deal with the SP, lets see if they can redeem themselves, as we are yet to understand who in the process will be actually to blame.
in regard to the design service all the Switch advertising states free decor service included, but not until we got the pre-start pack (which is extremely well put together) the fee of $300! is mentioned, i feel confident we don't need it but it would have been good to confirm the choices with someone more qualified in colour!
cheers

Hi feggle thanks for the pics, looks good! Have they started bricking yet?

BTW, to get your pics to show up in your post, when you are replying select the whole 'http://...' text and then click on the "Img" button just above the post box. It will put the image tags around the link which will insert the pic into your post. You can click on "Show Preview" to check that it has worked.

Well done feggles! Love the pics and great to see another 'Sw1tcher' at it. :D

I thought our 'scullery' was quite big, but I've just noticed yours is huge! With a sink and all! Makes ours just look like a fridge recess.... You are certainly not going to be short of storage in that house!
