Not long to go! @priscia2104 Hi Fluffy You are correct. We are getting there. We had just changed our site supervisor. He reckons it should be ready within 4 weeks. We are waiting the house to be painting, then tiling and some other stuff to be installed. I am happy with our new SS as he is very approachable!!. How is your house? I'm building with Firstyle in Edmondson Park. Next week we are going to Clipsal and I have a question regarding exhaust fan in bathrooms. I realised there is no info on the plan about external vents in the bathrooms in order to accomodate exhaust fans. I called Firstyle and was given an unclear answer - they said we need to select exhaust fans as an upgrade during the Clipsal appointment and Firstyle takes care of the rest. The lady I spoke to didn't sound confident so I'm a bit concerned since from our experience every change to our plan was a very slow and painful process and now the plans are signed off and sent to CDC. Does anyone know how this works out? Thanks K Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 244Aug 27, 2016 3:31 pm Hi Kastet, We are selecting our exhaust fan with heater during our clipsal selection. Hope this helps. Once you've selected a fan at Clipsal do you know whether Firstyle is going to charge you extra for an external vent that's required for the fan or it's included in what you are paying for the fan at Clipsal? Hi Kastet, I guess for us as a commoner and never have a profession as builder, we would not know if the vent is required when installing the exhaust van. I presume if the vent are needed to install the equipment/van, Firstyle should install this if it is part of the building standard. Well, I leave this to the builder, let them sort it out as per the building standard as we pay them to do so. So what I paid for $500 for the van, my understanding, the van needs to be installed properly and according to the building standards. If we worry about this kind of stuff, I guess I will go crazy and there will be never ending question. HAHA, More interesting to come along the building progress! I am so glad I am about to end this journey :p. I am hanging to every single table I can see over here. They have confirmed the $500 one does include external ducting, the $300 one doesn't and just blows into the roof cavity. In this regard, FirstStyle Homes initial quote seems very attractive and covers minor variants within our preferred budget. While couple of my knowns have experience with some of the famed builders for their house construction, wanted to seek your experience with FirstStyles Homes. Quality of goods for constructions, time commitment, price increase (given our registration for land due in Feb'2017). Any experience in this regards would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Re: Any experiences with Firstyle homes 251Sep 03, 2016 10:20 pm Our build is getting close to completion. Our tiler is about halfway done with the floor and wet area tiling. The bench top caeserstone has been installed to the kitchen carcasses, and the first coat of paint is on for the whole house. The RIO metal for our driveway has been delivered, but it is sitting there waiting to be done. The rain has put it back for the last few days unfortunately. Where are you building in Schofields anandsbanerjee? I am in Schofields as well. Thanks Hi Mickm You are very lucky!. Ours not even starting with painting yet. So i wont dream about the tiling. Mine is started mid jan. I think yours is quicker than ours. I wasnt impressed with errors we found. I hope our new ss can be trusted about his words not only empty promises. When do you expect the pci date? Normally it takes faster after tiling where they should be able to tell you when the PCI date is. Well, I are starting the building from Mid January and still waiting now... forever.. Have you done the tiling now? I think our contract date should be ended soon. I will hunt their commitment word to meet their damn deadline as what they are advertised. I have enough fun living with my in law for 2 years!.
