Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 23, 2010 9:38 pm I have finally tried to upload some photos of our build with Plantation Homes.
We are building the Castella on the Sunshine Coast, I have been following many of the threads and am so envious of the quality, speed, progress, outcome, decorating and landscaping skills of so many of you!!! Bit of a timeline: signed contracts Oct 09, big delays getting everything right..... XMAS break.... Went to site early Feb and has not been a lull in progress other then that dictated by the weather - have had "lots" of rain since Feb!!! If I was to build again there are so many things I would do differently!! Here's some pics: Re: Plantation Homes QLD 3Apr 24, 2010 6:55 am Oh good I was hoping you would start a thread Michelle and show us your house, as you are one of the only other PH builds here!!! YAY. When you are in photobucket you have to copy the image code and then copy and paste it into your post! I can't wait to see and hear more about your house!! I started a build thread yesterday too, so you'll have to check it out too MM Building Doulton Q3 with Plantation Homes My Building Blog http://thewebbs-page.blogspot.com/ Building Thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32743 Re: Plantation Homes QLD 4Apr 24, 2010 8:56 am Hi Shelby, Congratulations on getting started! I have a friend who is about to start building the Castella here in Brisbane. So I can't wait to see your pics and tell my friend, so she can check them out too Good Luck Re: Plantation Homes QLD 5Apr 24, 2010 2:59 pm Hi Shelby, Whereabouts on the Sunshine Coast are you building? We are in building in Pelican Waters, and I notice there have been a few Plantation homes going up. I can sympathise with you on the rain aspect - we too got caught out and delayed by a few weeks due to it. Looking forward to seeing your pics! - Hope everything is running smoothly for you! Building on the Sunshine Coast - Land settled 22nd July 2009 Building contract finally signed (after much deliberation on our part) 11th November 2009 Building commences 25th January 2010 - small local builder End of June - almost completed fit out 26th July - MOVE IN DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Re: Plantation Homes QLD 6Apr 24, 2010 8:34 pm Congrats on the start and looking forward to pics. As a recent PH customer (we've been in 3 weeks) can I just say I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new house and have been very happy so far. SS even stopped in on Friday just to see if there were any issues. I mentioned a couple that we hadn't picked up on at PCI. Things like leaks in gutters and downpipes that we needed rain to pick up. Anyway, he will ge someone out to sort it all. Sweet! Don't spose you could post a copy of your floor plan. Just curious as to how similar yours is to mine. What colour are your bricks? You must be pleased, it looks like it's all coming together nicely and quickly! So I guess the bricks they use are some basic brick for rendering? How do I upload plans - through photobucket too? The stairs should be in at some stage in the next fortnight. Havn't been past the house this week, will have a look tomorrow and see what has happened. Will post more pics if anything exciting to show. Re: Plantation Homes QLD 10Apr 29, 2010 7:13 pm Looking great. When choosing the facade style of our home (Plantation Style), I spent quite a bit of time looking at the style of homes your builder has. Can't wait to see the finished product! Cheers! Stonecutters Ridge Community Website | My photos Re: Plantation Homes QLD- STAIRS installed 11May 07, 2010 9:09 pm Progress this week seems alot slower - lock-up 1 week ago, invoice sent to us for the 35% as soon as they got the final lock on the door - no time wasted on their end!!! Biggest change is the installation of the stairs!! Yay! Quite timely as we had 36 hours of rain, dropped in and found the stairs installed so of course climbed them and discovered a leak in one of the bedrooms - yay for the rain. Spoke to SS and its apparantly being sorted. Also think the floor in the master bed is not level, they have some serious sanding to do (the level I used was from DS tool bench, I have absolute faith!). Still waiting to hear from SS about this. Tiles, skirtings, doors have all been delivered. Its fantastic they leave my house locked up!!! Ohhh well their loss if it gets pinched. Had a good look at all the cabinets today and noticed that most of the handles are not straight, when you look at the screws on the inside of the cabinets they are clearly not even (its quite difficult to see in the photos). Does anyone know if this is a common and easy to fix problem?? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hi all.
