Walk through went well today. Hopefully most things will be done within the 7 days. We have to get a new benchtop because tradies scratched the heck out of it. That will take a couple of weeks. Tiler starts on Sat.
On a good note, we got a few things taken off the last invoice. Phew. It halved the cost, thank goodness.

Yeh, they had a cover, but someone took it off. I'm glad in a way because the bench will be brand spanking new. The worst part of our build was our windows were stained from the pest spray and now SS has to organise professional window cleaners to come and clean them. You can't see through some windows it's THAT bad.
Hope everything is going well at your place. I bet you are enjoying the peacefulness of 5 acres. That's what I'm looking forward to. No close neighbours.

MR - of course, the best part is the space, and the views. we have gorgeous views over the mountains - full of mist and fog every morning.
Well its been very busy here at our place this week, looks like i wont be seeing BW again, we have the maintenance guy finish off the last of the house, painting, tiling, moved an unstraight wall. a window frame started to give way once we put up blinds so he had to fixed that. replaced some bricks, also some cracked and chipped tiles on the Alfresco area.
MR if you get R-- for your maintenance which you will as he is the ONLY maintenance guy for the bero office - he is lovely and very competent - he should be building the houses - he is very handy and very particular.

Acre-Yes, we will have "R" as he is our SS BROTHER. SS is fantastic so I can only imagine his brother being the same. We move in on the 27th but gawd all the stuff we have to do before then. Not looking forward to it. I hate moving.

Glad to hear your close to Moving in moonR . Absolutely loving being in. The echo is starting to go bit by bit. They don't have washing machine taps anymore , the latest technology uses wireless water dispersal it just fills up automatically That's not a major to fix . I had major Works done after walk thru , walls had to be aligned and Tiles taken up floor leveled properly.

Ashcrash.... I put a threeway bathroom in so I guess the option is available. Bw are pretty good when it comes to making changes;) I moved the laundry over to other side of house next to the main bathroom , I added an extra metre onto the master bedroom and another metre in the theatre room , I raised the floor into the garage to the same level as the house and put in double glass doors leading into the foyer, pantry and master bedroom doors also are glass.. With all the plan changes , site costs , and BASIX , and the upgrades of tiles and accessories it came to about 210,000 , then you gotta add driveways ,landscaping , light fittings, curtains or blinds, fences, retaining walls, furniture )

How has everyone found the communication with head office? Our experience so far has been terrible.
I want to avoid a rant so I will just say our experience has been terrible too, then again our whole experience has been terrible. I met our site supervisor the other day for the first time and he was so rude and then proceeded to hock a golly on our front lawn, I was not impressed to say the least but Ive given up on complaining because nothing comes of it. Sorry I ended up ranting.
Hi, We are building with Beechwood, the Muscat in the Genesis Series, if anyone has any reviews or photos of this built they can post I would very much appreciate it, we are waiting for a quote back and have changed quite a few things such as extending the garage, stepping out the WIR and ENS and adding separate doors to them, moving the laundry into the garage, adding a pantry and extending the kitchen bench as well as a few other things, has everyone been happy with Beechwood in regards to the quality of the home built and is there anything anyone would change after being built?? How are there site costs any hidden costs ect?

I have had no problems with Beechwood so far, cost is good communication with Head office is good. Mind you I checked and double checked everything and followed up on everything that I was able to. Followed plans through council, contacted council when they stated online further information needed. Did the modifications myself and notified Head Office of the change agreed to by council.(Wasn't letting them tell me I had to spend more money on changes if I didn't need to. Council helped me modify the secondary facade without having to modify the structure of the house. A bit of paint and some gardening) saved thousands.
The only problem with have had is with communication. I think the cost is pretty good. Not many hidden extras if you don't want them. Had extra piers but that wasn't too expensive.
