We have a quote we're happy with so we'll sign the contract, organize finance and select, select, select. I'm looking forward to that aspect. Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: Golden Grove, Jessica Ashbourne 43Apr 17, 2010 10:54 am I've missed doing selections - this house and the last house i've been in the UK so my wife has done them herself. Good for her I guess Re: Golden Grove, Jessica Ashbourne 44Apr 17, 2010 5:09 pm Hey Andronicus, It would be my sweetest dream to be left doing colour selection on my own. But it would be my husband's worst nightmare. Honestly, you do miss out being a part of an important part. I hope you like your wife's taste. Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: Golden Grove, Jessica Ashbourne 45Apr 17, 2010 5:37 pm I guess I played a part. We basically looked at everything and spoke about most stuff. She just attended the actually day long session alone and had to make some decisions without me. Luckily my wife has great taste I told her I said that Re: Golden Grove, Jessica Ashbourne 46Apr 18, 2010 6:44 pm Andronicus I've missed doing selections - this house and the last house i've been in the UK so my wife has done them herself. Good for her I guess Oh wow that definitely would be hard Andronicus, but there were soooooo many times where I felt like me doing it on my own or him doing on his own would be better! I have never seen a guy spend soooooooo much time on research and selections In the end I am glad that we spent the time but I have never gone to so many Display homes in my life. But email is a great thing Re: Golden Grove, Jessica Ashbourne 47Apr 21, 2010 12:37 pm Wow, your house is coming along nicely. I really like your floor plan and colour selections. I too am jealous of other people who's houses have actually started. A couple years in the making. We had our inspector out today to look at the frame work and he says they havent done anything in ages..... so more waiting. Coz I live at home with my parents and my fiance with his parents the only way to keep sane is thinking how much money we are saving while being at home, so the longer they take the more money we save. But it would be nice to have some bricks and roof before it starts pouring! Jessica, Ashbourne. We have gutters!!! 50Apr 27, 2010 4:49 pm Re: Golden Grove, Jessica Ashbourne 51Apr 27, 2010 6:26 pm Cograts Jessie, Refresh my memory, what colour are the gutters? Re: Golden Grove, Jessica Ashbourne 55Apr 27, 2010 8:28 pm jessie87 Yours is looking good Wombat, they had a ute in your garage today... Yep, tiling going on this week. I will be stunned if we don't have keys by end of June (but ready if we don't of course) Your site is very active now, it's great to see something go up isn't it? Re: Golden Grove, Jessica Ashbourne 56Apr 27, 2010 8:32 pm oh wow thats amazing Fingers crossed for you It will be exciting to see the tiling Yes it is It has felt like it has been dragging. A Rossdale home there slab was laid a couple weeks after ours and they have done 1st fix electrical, insulation and everything so it is hard seeing others going up and ours nothing but I think more will start to happen! EEK! So exciting Re: Golden Grove, Jessica Ashbourne 57Apr 28, 2010 5:19 pm Hi jessie87 - first time I've seen your thread, just had a look through and WOW your home is going to be beautiful!!! Don't worry about the gutters ... I was excited when ours went up and I spent (still do) waaaaaaaaaaay too much time just looking at them I'm also going after a similar look to you - all neutral beigy type colours so that I can add colour to the house when we move in ... well, that's the plan anyway Look forward to watching the rest of your build BTW, the work on your slab was GREAT ... I would've been really peed off with whoever put those marks on it! I was thinking gosh I am sad but it is sooooo exciting to be building a house! YAY!!!! So I am glad I am not the only one. I spent an hour each day speaking to guy and admiring how gutters Yeh for us thats the best way We are adding red, and surprisingly which wasnt planned we are adding black.... We have those lamps and I saw the most BEAUSTIFUL quilt cover for our sparea bedroom which is white and black. I think it is absolutely stunning, I will have to get the website do you know what colour you will be adding? yeh I wasnt happy It was the &*^$3 builder that did that.... but supposedly common. It looked so pretty before but oh well. Not pretty now with all the mud. the poor guy doing the gutters the ladder was sinking into the mud. hahaha poor guy. He was there for a day and a half. He says always the way.... I do a job after a rain ppour I have read you blog, I love reading through peoples journey because building/having a home is very exciting and I have loved every minute of it... until the bank tells they have a shortfall of 6k and tells me that he wishes clients get things right.... excuse me I picked the stuff up of the bank manager but anyway and then rings me later in the day saying no all good we actually owe you $500.... oh really.... I was trying to tell you about that before. I will be reading your blog as well Re: Golden Grove, Jessica Ashbourne 60Apr 30, 2010 1:39 am Petermet Hi jessie87, It looks a beautiful plan and the display home is lovely.
