Hi everyone, i have been a member of this forum for quite a few weeks now and i must say that it really helped me a lot from picking the block of land to picking the builder. As some may know, i ended up with a house and land package with Carlisle Homes in Point cook, Stage12a. I just finished my colour selection and have decided to make my own thread to post what we picked and for everyone to give their opinion.

Our siting should be:

[ img ]

The facade from the display home: (ours will be a little bit narrower and different colours)

Congrats draco76, the facade and floorplan look awesome!! :D :D

I like your narrower facade than the display one...the windows look better close together.

What colours did you choose? How was Spectra, which consultant did you have?

Good luck for contracts and the rest of your build!! ::lol::

Thanks guys..

Spectra is awesome and really a big help. It's got most of what you need and they do allow you to spend the whole day there...

Colour consultant was Karen.. she's pretty good and very patient.

The facade colours are good...well done!! They mix well together in my opinion. ::lol::

How come youve got Austral Blackwood and Chocolate there? Are you using Chocolate too??

They allow you too stay the whole day???

The way they used to do it, before Spectra, was you have a 3 hour appointment.. your selections are done in an office/room next to the selection area. Thats awesome how you can stay the whole day!! Does the consultant stay with you for the whole time, or do you just ask for help?

oh yeah, one whole day..

during the colour browse, the consultant just introduce you to the different ranges and categories and that will only take about an hour but after that, you can stay the whole day and pretty much have a look again. they even allow you to take the bricks and tiles off the wall so you can put them side-by-side just like what I did.. then you can go to the flooring area where they got all the carpets, wood laminates and tiles and can take them and put them on the table to see how they blend.. if you get stuck, you can ask the consultant again..

during the colour selection, the colour consultant stayed with us the whole day (except for the lunch break   ) and I love Carlisle for that.. having a dedicated colour consultant with you for a whole day (we actually got two since there was another one in training) :D they would give their opinion on the colours that you choose but the final decision is still up to you.. they just agreed on most of the colours that we chose so i am not sure if they are really trained colour consultants.. :D

Nice choices! Looks like our roof tiles will not be out of place at all, was a little worried about being the only one with a light roof in the area.

Have you seen the display at Williams Landing? They have those exact tiles on the house there and it looks great.

Look forward to seeing that facade go up - it looks impressive, do you have to get 'corner treatment' due to being on a corner block? If so what have Carlisle proposed?

Hi zero. Yes, been to the williams landing display. I actually got the colours from there. From the start, I decided I want a light coloured roof as I read that it is better in terms of reflecting heat. It was just a matter of selecting which brick would go well with it, then I saw the Williams Landing display. :D

I have not yet been advised on what they will do with the corner treatment but I reckon they will put two additional windows at the side. Hopefully it wouldn't be too expensive though.

Good to hear about Carlisles new way of doing colour selections.

Your house is on a corner block?? Thats pretty good IMO, wish we bought a corner block! ::lol::

Will you be rendering the side as well?

not sure if we need to render the side S&P, we are not yet advised by CH on the solution, hopefully not as I want my bricks to show   either the chocolate, blackwood or tan...

i wonder if it would be more expensive to render the whole side or add two more windows on the side..

Hi Draco,

The floorplan has great use of space. One of those houses that seem much bigger than it is. :D
Did you really want honest opinions on your colours? I think they generally look pretty good..... except for the Paperbark. It seems to really stand out and look very yellow with your other selections. All your other selection have more muted tones... and tonally it just seems a little out of place, looks very bright. :th: :th:

Feel free to tell me to shut up and mind my own business.

no worries Joles.. thanks for the comment. will look at it again and will reconsider the paperbark.. got any suggestions to replace it?

would have been great if we're in the east and i can just drive to Spectra and have a look again..

We're using dune with those roof tiles, seemed to match them pretty well and is much more subdued than paperbark.

thanks Zero.. come to think of it, the display home at Williams Landing is using dune. Don't know why we chose paperbark. Will have a look again and might change it to dune.

Do you have the colour selection booklet?

The colour is pretty self explanatory.. its in the actual name..

Its basically a light silver colour. Flick through photos on the Carlisle website, some houses have the silver windows/doors.

I'm guessing your talking about windows S&P? I think Metro Silver was replaced with Anodic Grey - which is what we have chosen.
