Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 20, 2009 6:23 pm Thought it was time to start my own thread. so here it is, we love pics so there will be lots!
We are: Lauren and Alan, first home buyers. Building: PD Foxley 26. Where: Williams Landing. We bought our block way back in march 2008 and waited "patiently" for title, which finaly came in july 2009. During which time we chose our builder and our house plan, chose our colours, tender, etc. We originaly chose the Newstead 27, until PD released the Foxley and we changed. After going through the whole process once more we again waited "patiently" for our site start. We had a start date on 28/8/2009 and things have run quite smoothly since. Colours: Bricks - Brown terrain. Roof tiles - Boral striata, Gunmetal. Aluminium windows - Paperbark. Garage door - Paperbark. Gutter, Fascia, Downpipes - Paperbark. Render - Time capsual. Interior walls - Oriental white. Bench tops kitchen - New diamond quantum quartz 40mm with waterfall. kitchen cabinets/overheads/island bench - White laminex. Outer island bench - Burnished wood laminex. Glass splashback - Hogs bristle 1/2 strength. Bathroom - Licorice linea. Ensuite - Licorice linea. Laundrey - Oyster linea. And now for some pics of how things have progressed, sorry about the size! . Re: Our story so far. Foxley 26 (BEWARE 56K) 2Oct 20, 2009 6:26 pm House looks fantastic!! If I were you, I would take out the street sign in your photos.. for privacy reasons. Re: Our story so far. Foxley 26 (BEWARE 56K) 3Oct 20, 2009 6:37 pm S&P - I was thinking the same thing about the street name Gumboots - It's a great plan and your colour choices sound very nice. We have Oriental white paint on our woodwork and our oldest son's bedroom, it's a really nice colour. PD build a great house, we are very happy with ours (apart from a few issues after handover which have now been sorted). Just one thing I'd like to mention... are you upgrading to the starfire glass (the one that does not have the green tinge?) Because the Hogs Bristle in half strength will almost definitely look greenish otherwise. Might be better to go for full strength on clear or upgrade to starfire glass, if you haven't already Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Foxley 26 (Warning - Pic heavy!) 7Oct 21, 2009 11:26 am Great pics. Luv your floor plan but I'm a bit bias as it's very similar to my EB Memphis that is nearing completion. Good luck with the rest of your build. Rgds Leonard. Re: Our story so far. Foxley 26 (Warning - Pic heavy!) 8Oct 21, 2009 1:11 pm Hi Gumboots, Good on you! That's my favorite floor plan with PD. Loving the house gumboots! Looking forward to seeing some pics once the internal comes together.. Some of your internal colours are similar to mine (white and burnished wood in kitchen, we also have oyster linea and burnished wood in our bathrooms). By the way that is a pretty big house next to you! Which side is it on? Do you think you will get much of a shadow over your alfresco area because of it? I'm scared of a double story being built on my North boundary especially!! Building Monaco32 with Carlisle Homes in Alamanda Estate 20/08/2010 - HANDOVER 24/8!! Hi sarahq - I know how you feel, I spent ages trawling the internet looking for pictures of comparable colours to see how it looks. Its good when someone does a comparable scheme. The big house is sort of east (i think?), the sun comes up over the back corner of our block on their side so it doesn't get in the way (thankfully). I was really worried too when I saw the frame going up but we have been out there a few times at different times of the day and I think it will be ok. Re: Our story so far. A lot of our colours were chosen from display homes. Our kitchen is practically the same as the display (there is a pic of this in my thread I think). Thats fantastic news about the house next door as well! I have decided that if I have to have a double story house on a neighbouring block, I want it on the block to the south. I will cross that hurdle if I get to it I guess! Building Monaco32 with Carlisle Homes in Alamanda Estate 20/08/2010 - HANDOVER 24/8!! Wow, it took us ages to figure that out and we had the builder as a clue - we matched up the door voids at frame stage to the different double stories from Carlisle to see if their living or entertaining areas faced ours. As far as 2 story houses go, this one is pretty good to have next to us on that side! Our cabinets and sinks were delivered late last week so we have had a look at those. No surprises with how the colours came out which is great, but I think one of the bathroom units has been made in the wrong colour. Not quite sure what to do though since we technically aren't supposed to be in the house. Re: Our story so far.
