Re: themax build - the WALL has been painted! 1723Oct 01, 2010 5:26 pm Thanks bel, I am so glad that you suggested it! DH finally has half of the BBQ bits and pieces. It looks nice in front of the wall on that edge of the A/F. I have 2 big terracotta pots that I want to fill with bamboo in front of it. Hopefully Santa will bring the Bamboo plants for Xmas? www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: themax build - the WALL has been painted! 1724Oct 01, 2010 5:27 pm justcamping Love the colour of the "Great Wall" it really looks fantastic. DH toook the new BBQ for a spin. Mind you only half of it has arrived, there is another burner to be added (shop out of stock). A great time was had by all I think. My oven is not as elaborate as that and I know how to cook. Have been pottering in the garden a bit. Added a climber to each end of the Great Wall. Just thought it would help to blur the seam between the wall and the fence a bit. We'll see how it goes. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: themax build - new barbie! 1726Oct 06, 2010 8:50 pm Ok so if you stand still long enough in my backyard I will dig you up. Much to DH's distress. So while he was upstairs working I managed to dig a small but temporarily adequate Herb garden. I will extend it to the left by getting rid of the red wash tub soon. I started to clean the area up then took this photo: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Then kept going Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Cash is low at the moment so I had to work with what I had. ] Note: the Mint will renain IN the pot, never, ever in the ground. The big pot on the right of the Tibouchina houses the Bell Chilli I adore. It's waking up after the Winter DH came out to see and says: "Yeah looks ok doesn't it?", with minor enthusiasm in his voice "Yes", I say. I left the stake there for a Tomato plant. Maybe tomorrow. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: themax build - new barbie! 1727Oct 06, 2010 9:00 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Oh yes, and I have finally 2 flowers on my Green Trick that I purchased at the ABC Gardening Show. Wow thanks so much for the lovely compliment qonyx! That splashback (Jarrah) was approx $980 from memory . It's 2910mm wide and 650mm high. No joins, no cuts, no power points. Extra cuts for power points etc would have been charged at $50 per cut from this particular supplier. I find that quote that you have there is a bit on the wild side::surprise:: I am in Sydney and the company I used is also in SYdney and they have a factory in Wollongong also. I cannot complain at all about the service. I think it did take a little longer than I thought but nothing too drastic. They supplied me with samples to try. (Remember the light does NOT shine through when it's on the wall as it does with a sample...changes the colour). I will pm you the supplier. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: themax build - new barbie! 1732Dec 11, 2010 8:05 am thanks so much for that PM.. i'll get in touch with them on Monday to see how much they think it will cost to get ours done.... i was kinda thinking it was going to come in at 1.5k or something like that... and then we get a 4k quote i just thought was outrageous. by coincidence (or the fact we have fantastic taste we will have a very similar color combination and kitchen config with you...poly gloss white, same handles, grey-ish wall paint, gyprock bulkhead above cupboards.... and your splash is what we were thinking as well.. hope it turns out as nice as yours thanks again for the info Project History Deposit - 20/4/2010 Land Settled - 20/8/2010 Council - 30/9/2010 Slab - 17/11/2010 Bricks - 28/01/2011 Roof - 5/02/2011 Gyprock - 4/03/2011 Re: themax build - new barbie! 1733Dec 11, 2010 9:38 am Thanks again. Here's the front garden in it's infancy: http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg89/leah6363/frontgarden002-1.jpg http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg89/leah6363/frontgarden001-1.jpg The lophomyrtus hedge at the back will be kept top a lowish hedge to provide some privacy from the front and provide a nice outlook from the window. (when we get real blinds and get rid of the temporary Redishades ). I love it's lime green and burgundy leaves it has the same colour tones as the Dodonaea viscosa 'purpurea' in Winter (below). Yum yum. I like the lime green of the lomandra, it sets off the lime in the lophomyrtus. The silver of the Euphorbia is a great contrast as well against the burgundy backdrop. I didn't want it balanced that is why there are 3 Euphorbias on one side and 1 on the other. The Mexican Lilly in the middle is a nice shape and form. I like the interest and the dimensions. The rocks break it up a bit. I think when it is grown it will be nice. I may add a dracaena in the space to the right for height. The Dodonaea is looking fabulous, just fabulous and I found a cherry tomato growing between two of them the other day so I will eave it until it becomes out of hand. It has fruit on it some maybe by Xmas we will have "rogue" cherry toms (they are not my aggies, that's the neighbours) http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg89/leah6363/frontgarden1001.jpg www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: themax build - little update! 1737Jan 05, 2011 7:59 am Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ New addition to the front garden. It's a red Latan palm from Reunion Island. Latania lontaroides. I think I will add a little colour to it, add some timber edging and some sandstone rectangle pavers across the front.
