Well, with one major "Oops!", our block of land was cleared today!

They started clearing the block this morning, my DH went out early this afternoon to have a look and discovered they had been clearing the WRONG block! Unfortunately, they were half way done with it before the discovery, and when I got off work and went out to see if they had done anything to our block, they had just finished. They must have decided to just finish the other one because there was nothing left but one tree lol :::

Anyway, here's an update ::smile::

I dont know what will happen now, I'm not sure who's going to have to wear the cost of it. But if it was ME that owned the block, i would be thinking that it wouldnt be me paying for it!

And thanks, it is a pretty block. There's a reserve and a cemetary back there so I dont think it'll ever be built on, which is lucky for us... and the "neighbors" are very quiet! ::wink::

:: What was the reaction on their face when you told them? I imagine they will just have to write it off somehow as it was their mistake . . . how much is it costing to have your block cleared?

Really nice looking bit of land you've got yourself there!

Unfortunately, I was at work so I didnt get to see. It was just an "oh shhhiii...." moment for my husband before he called our SS and explained what was happening lol. :::

He left it for the SS to tell the poor guy that he was digging up the wrong trees... ::hyst::

Sorry Pebble, I didnt mean to ignore your question :oops:

It cost us just under 4k to have the block cleared of trees (741 sqm), and they'll come back and cut them when things have dried up a bit... it has rained almost every day since the trees came down... ::cry::

On a happier note, he told us they are hoping to start on friday and that they should be bricking by next week ::smile::

D&SG, you do have a beautiful block. Looks so peaceful! :)

I like how you have the master bedroom positioned away from the other bedrooms too.

Thank you Haven, my DH came up with the design. The house will get to take full advantage of that view to the back and it also faces to the north/northeast, so we're pretty stoked about the whole thing! ::smile::
