Re: THE HOUSE PLAN THREAD 46Feb 22, 2010 10:57 pm Hi Folks, Good place to see if I can figure out how to post a plan before I think of making my own thread for our build. Big House - wasn't meant to be quite this big but, oh well.... http://i1017.photobucket.com/albums/af300/Eskay40/House%20Build/Plans1-1.jpg hope that worked. Haven't nutted out the finer details yet though. I don't really like that there's such a bit entrance hall but, hey, we haven't even started building our current home - I suppose I've got plenty of time to think about it Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: THE HOUSE PLAN THREAD 49Mar 30, 2010 10:04 pm dilla - that would be lovely on a south facing block! You could open up all of the north facing areas with heaps of windows and really soak in the winter sun =) It would just about provide beautiful warmth to your whole house! I hope that you get the chance to fine tune it and make it a reality someday =) Re: THE HOUSE PLAN THREAD 50Mar 31, 2010 1:10 pm Here is our plan.
We liked the idea of nice open space. Separate sleeping areas from living areas. Minor bedrooms separated from main bedroom. I like that the inside of the house opens to the outside. I also like the kitchen, I think it will be very spacious and I like the butlers pantry too!! I also like that DH added his workshop (even though I lost the window in the dining room – grrrr!). But I think the workshop will be great for additional storage! Hopefully it comes together as we imagine!! http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz237/nandn02/Home/P4180108.jpg Re: THE HOUSE PLAN THREAD 51Mar 31, 2010 1:22 pm n&n02 Here is our plan. Wow that is great design, I understand what you mean about the inside opens to the outside; gives the impression of a very spacious central room! Nice little workshop too! I loooovvvve looking at plans. I scroll threads just to see if there is a floor plan, so when I saw this thread I thought I had arrived at the pearly gates..and was so excited to read it. I will be bumping this each month so that newbies can see it and add theirs if they want. (please add yours, more of a command than a suggestion. Remember I am at the gates, and commands are the in thing!) thanks for starting it Lauren, LOVE IT! nicky Re: THE HOUSE PLAN THREAD 56Apr 15, 2010 11:28 am Hi everyone
What a great thread, I love looking at all the plans too. My partner and I are building for the first time and decided on the Simonds Flagstone 2150 with some alterations including: Extended the garage out another meter; Added a roller door at the rear of the garage; Added extra cupboards in the kitchen; and Raised the ceiling 900mm in the lounge and meals area. The floor boards will carry through all living areas including the kitchen. All bedrooms will be carpeted. There were a few other extras we included but I cant think of them at the moment. We will be doing all the external items apart from the driveway ourselves after handover. Our plan was based on the display home in Geelong. Fingers crossed our build will start early June this year.
