Feedback ? 3Mar 26, 2009 1:51 pm We were looking at building the Homestead 37 with Newstart or the Glenview with Hallmark. Was wondering how the building process was with each of them. We looked at Clarendon but didn't really suit our needs. Re: Can't decide between Hallmark and Newstart ! Feedback ? 6Mar 26, 2009 1:58 pm I've built twice with Newstart in the past, first in 1993 and again in 1996 as we liked the house and service so much. Third house was a Coral and didn't compare but was cheaper. If they are as good as they were back in the '90's then I'd say definitely go with Newstart. That's a great help. I think we will probably go with Newstart. Re: Can't decide between Hallmark and Newstart ! Feedback ? 9Mar 27, 2009 2:01 pm Hi there.. We are in the final stages of building with Newstart, as you have probably seen from our blog.. I cannot recommend them enough! We havenot had any real problems (other than a few small things which have been sorted out almost immediately) and they dont make you feel bad for mentioning them We are building the homestead 37 (minus the games room). Where abouts are you building? I look forward to following your build -Sha Re: Can't decide between Hallmark and Newstart ! Feedback ? 10Mar 28, 2009 9:27 pm Hi, if you do a search on this site you will see what people who have built with them have to say. We are at contract stage with Hallmark and truthfully there have been a few communication issues between HO and salesoffice, but really too early to comment and judge them overall. But fingers crossed that the generally good feedback we have heard so far prevails. I am curious to read what kind of feedback you get. Building the 22sq Ashton Re: Can't decide between Hallmark and Newstart ! Feedback ? 11Mar 28, 2009 10:55 pm It should be noted that the Newstart was sold about 10 years ago, so the company today is not the same company it was in the 1990s. This doesn't necessarily mean they are better or worse, but be aware that any homes built more than 10 years ago do not provide an example of the builder today. Our block of land is in Redland Bay QLD. Today we signed the preliminary Agreement, we are so excited. Off to start our blog now. Jo Re: Can't decide between Hallmark and Newstart ! Hi Jolie, We finally got our preliminary assessment back after 7 weeks (they told us 3-4 weeks). Most unfortunately for Hallmark that during the delay we found another project home that seem to work better for my family. It comes with a games room, undercover alfesco and small store room in the garage. So, we are going to forfeit the $2K we already paid Hallmark and start the whole process again with Newstart Homes. Today, we just signed a new preliminary agreement with Newtart so here we go again. Joanne Re: Can't decide between Hallmark and Newstart ! Feedback ? 14Apr 04, 2009 7:48 pm Well Joanne, in the scheme of things $2000 will be a small casualty for what sounds like a much better deal. Well done for having the courage to swap builders as sometimes having given the deposit can be quite a mental commitment too. We understand that H@llmark sales have picked up a lot recently with increased FHOG and the promotions that they have been having (the Flair range) probably explains their delay.. we have just signed the contract with them and it's about to go to Council. Fingers crossed they deliver on their 13 week build time. I am sure you will have a good experience with Newstart - they seem to have some great reviews...
