I am interested in hearing from anyone who has built, or is building, an Allworth home. Their prices seem very reasonable considering the size of the houses, however, after viewing a couple of the display houses, I was disappointed that the kitchen & bathrooms seem quite "outdated". I was just curious what the selection of tiles, vanities etc offered is like?

Thanks!

Hi Bubbler

I am currently building with Allworth. So far I have been pretty happy with the quality and progress. There are a couple of minor issues but they are only cosmetic.

Not sure what you mean by the kitchen & bathrooms seem "outdated". I am currently living in a 30 year old house and the kitchen is tiny and horrible 70's colour scheme so I can't complain about the Allworth kitchen. I added Caesarstone benchtop in the kitchen and upgraded the oven. As for cupboards they have a range of Polytec laminates or timber to choose from. All the appliances were Omega stainless steel. My design doesn't have a walk in pantry but some do and either way it wasn't a big deal for me.

They do have a bathroom vanity upgrade but I didn't take it so I can't comment on it. I did add a spa though and flickmixers to the vanities and showers.

My tiles came from Beaumont however they have since changed supplier (at least in the Hunter region) to somebody on the Central Coast and from what I have heard it is a better selection than Beaumont.

I was caught up in the Beechwood collapse and was a little nervous about building after that but I found reading through the blog at http://myallworth.blogspot.com helped my decision to build with Allworth.

Good luck with whoever you decide to go with :)

Any body else got comments on Allworth. We are looking at building in Western Sydney...I spoke to them yesterday and was reasonably happy with their houses and sales pitch.

We have been checking some of the other builders (wisdom, metrcion, eden b etc ) and Allworth dont have the same wow factor but they seem to be a bit better priced. I really got the feeling from them they were old school, not flashy but with good quality and were reliable .. Am I wrong???

I got hand over on the 2nd June and have been very happy with the house so far. Even after handing over the final cheque they were still very helpful and came and fixed up the few outstanding issues without delay.

They may not be as flashy as other builders but I think they build quality. A lot of builders woo you with all the freebies under the sun but I found out the hard way that you end up paying for those in the end.

Allworth actually came in around $2000 under my tender price and completed the build in 18 weeks when the contract stated 19 weeks.

All up very happy.

Hey there,
We got hand over with Allworth in July and are really happy with the standard and the finish of the house. I know what you mean about the display homes but if you can look past that then I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised! The kitchen and bathrooms are up to you really - depends how much you want to upgrade. You are right about the dated look of the display homes, I loved the Eden Brae, AV Jen and Mac Jones homes - they always looked beautiful.. so we stole some of their ideas and built with Allworth whom we found to get more for our money! We have a 28 sq home with air, alfresco, painted outside, a 3rd garage, a conservatory (our toy room), a family area, a formal dining, a formal lounge, 2 bathrooms and 4 good size bedrooms (as we moved our laundry to the third garage) for $216K. I think we got a good deal.
Good luck with chosing!

thanks for the feedback everyone. We ended signing up with Cosmopolitan homes - mainly because we are required to build a Cosmopolitan house on the block we picked - but still love the house of course!
