I've been looking all over these forums and around everywhere else on the internet but I can't seem to find an answer. Anyway I'm looking to move into a Mirvac estate in NSW and I know it's a long shot but what are the chances of them letting you hire a licenced tradesperson to do some jobs on site?

I'm looking at running cat 6 ethernet cables, around 16-20 points, to a rack in the garage (something like this http://www.4cabling.com.au/products/12R ... binet.html). Doing it whilst under construction would probably be easier I think but I'm not sure if they allow this. Some other companies allow this but I'm not too sure about mirvac.

Anyway I probably need additional power points as well, however I assume I can just ask Mirvac to install additionnal power points or something.

On the very high offchance that they will not allow for your own subcontractors on site, what is the average price they charge per ethernet port?)

I guess you would have to ask them? My experience is the builder will charge a big mark-up on such extras. If you can get an external contractor to do it, do that.

This thread might be better off under the Home Theatre/Automation section where a lot of people ask similar q's.
