Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 03, 2009 9:45 pm Evening all, I know they do it on 'handover' but what did that mean for you? Did everyone all turn up on 1 day and do it all? When was this in relation to handing over the final payment? We've got the kitchen appliances, hot water, evap cooling and water tank that all need to go in. I have little faith that our builder could get them all to turn up at the same time, same day, in less than a week.... Please tell me happy stories of how it all came good for you! Anthea Re: When did they put your applicances etc in?? 2Apr 03, 2009 10:23 pm We had handover on Friday 19th December and HWS was installed that day. On Monday 22nd we had Oven, rangehood etc and also other guys came around to commission the heating/cooling gas etc. We had to have everything done on the 22nd as everyone stopped work on the 23rd for Christmas - they did it though! Happy at Home Re: When did they put your applicances etc in?? 3Apr 03, 2009 10:30 pm Our oven and rangehood went in before handover. HWS, rainwater tank, gas cooktop, external aircon unit went in about a week after handover (we weren't in a rush, they would have done it sooner if we'd really needed it) I guess God didn't use subbies... Re: When did they put your applicances etc in?? 5Apr 04, 2009 5:40 am all ours were installed day before handover, except tank which was day after, but only because builder forgot about it "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. Re: When did they put your applicances etc in?? 6Apr 04, 2009 5:43 am Ours were all done the same day - it would have been a couple of days after handover, except that didn't suit us (we needed the floorboards down before the stove could go in), so we put it off for a week. Everyone turned up on the one day, no problems. 0 12326 I’m loving the potential versatility and practicality of a bench seat in a shower. Anyone had one of these done recently? Not sure if they are straight forward and easy… 0 1516 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 15036 |
