Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 28, 2024 6:50 am Our previous builder has been refused insurance by VMIA because of his history of incomplete building works. However, he has managed to get building insurance through another Sydney Company. How is it possible that another company insured him despite VMIA's refusal due to high risk? His history of incomplete and highly defective work seems to suggest that he would be a danger to the public. Wouldn't the new Insurer still have the same underwriter as VMIA? Does anyone know how it works? I'm wondering if anyone knows what the requirements are of a builder to be eligible to hold Domestic Building Insurance for proposed works. https://www.dbi.vmia.vic.gov.au… 0 3437 I apologise for any confusion, but your understanding is correct.
