Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 03, 2022 8:02 pm I just signed building agreement in Feb 2022, and was given 90 days for contract validation, if validation happen after 90 days, I will have to pay $1450 per month. But I just found the contract says that the contract price will be reviewed if the tender expires. I don't think 90 days is enough to get DA and CC. My questions is I will only need to pay $1450 per month or pay new price? Re: Build with Masterton Homes, post contract questions 2Mar 16, 2022 11:36 am 90 days is not enough for DA and CC. My DA only took 2 weeks in council back in October 2021. The CC has only just been submitted last week - they expect it to take up to 3 wks. Colours are not booked until DA is approved which were completed before Christmas then the shutdown for Christmas and the last of our appointments was mid January for Electrical. My tender expired Christmas day, at this stage no increases have been passed on to me and i doubt they would do this as the delays have not been caused by us. Hopefully i will be in construction soon and i will be able to answer this question for you. Good luck with your build. Re: Build with Masterton Homes, post contract questions 4Mar 16, 2022 9:52 pm Any changes to plans take approx 5 weeks. A lot of back and forth with requests not being interpreted correctly. Make sure all changes are on your plans before going to council even if only internal changes as workload seems to be causing delays and errors. Re: Build with Masterton Homes, post contract questions 5Nov 28, 2022 3:20 pm If I have to start over again. I would not build with masterton. We are currently discussing some dispute for something to replace and they refused. We won’t give up as I beloved they are responsible for it. We had headaches and headaches with them. Think twice before building with them. Re: Build with Masterton Homes, post contract questions 6Jan 31, 2023 10:28 pm Hi Guys, I am in the same situation now that Masterton is asking me to pay the $1450 per month because my 90 days post Tender(construction contact) period experied in August 2022. Just wondering if eventually you pay for it or do you negotiate with them? Re: Build with Masterton Homes, post contract questions 10Feb 01, 2023 5:48 pm I am building a two-storey with attached granny flat. I just finished color appointment guess need another month to validate the contract... No idea why a simple CDC plan took 6 months to finish, and approval only took within a month. Re: Build with Masterton Homes, post contract questions 12Apr 11, 2023 11:57 pm ymao8284 Hi Geewoo, I didn't argue with them and just accepted. I know their new basic price for my plan just increased by at lease 80K. Hi Ymao8284, I am with a builder who charges similar way ( ie $1500 per month after tender price expiry). Did you ended up paying just $1450 per month until your plans validated or you had to pay a difference in home price increase during this time as well? Appreciate your response... Re: Build with Masterton Homes, post contract questions 15Sep 13, 2023 2:16 pm Has Masterton Homes increased anybody's contract price from original to current? My contract stated $1450 per month but they have recently changed it by increasing base price by $60k plus $1500 per month delay. Should I see a lawyer? I have no issue with the $1450 per month but increasing contracted base price to current base price is too much!!! 4 17223 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 19837 You talk about deletions, are they variations or PS and PC adjustments? pleas list them 1 17197 |
