Don't know if any of you remember my hellebores......... Actually, I don't even remember whether I added a post on them, somewhere in this thread but.........
As well as the hellebore update, I finalised my dining chairs. "Way back when........." I asked your advice on dining chairs & what colour upholstery - olive or aubergine Well, I got the chairs BUT neither olive or aubergine . I actually bought a 2nd-hand set of 8 on ebay , which happened to be BLACK No matter, they look great with our maple table After my grown kids & grandson move out .................................. I'll get them re-upholstered & the legs sanded & stained to match.
So here they are........my $250 chairs .....and I call my DH a TA

Hey guys, woah alot of reading thats for sure. Your home looks great Southies! My wife and I recently just put a deposit down for the Cremorne 41 and we're building in Harrington Grove. Just looking at your facade, how much was it for the design and the extras (paving, tiles etc?) Thanks!

Southie is in Sydney - isn't she? You can't even find to buy hellebores in Perth in our nurseries... maybe some specialised places might sell them but never found them at mainstream nurseries - same with quite a few other plants like Alliums, heucheras, certain euphorbias, peonies, etc. I'm assuming that the sun here is so harsh that they don't survive.

Hi Southies (why don't they add that cute waving smiley already!?!?)
I remembered that you planted a murraya hedge, so was wondering how big it is now and are you happy with the spacing. I have just planted a row of them to eventually screen out the neighbour, but am thinking I planted them too close (about 1m). I don't want a close-knit hedge, I just want them to be able to screen out (without holes) once they are about 2m high. Actually, did you plant more than one murraya hedge?

Lex, I think 1 metre will be fine. Ours are 40cm apart - we wanted privacy, for obvious reasons.

No only 1.

FYI : We've been feeding them with Seasol, Powerfeed & molasses in the 1st 2 years.....and water of course. Since then, I've gotten lazy but did do it again 2 weeks ago. We haven't watered much either , but I think the hedge would have grown much faster if it had regular water.
