It all looks so lovely. I have to say I'm very impressed with the contents of Mrs Hooties Scullery - especially the top shelf!! And that kitchen shot looks like a display home. Beautiful! Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover - Moved in photos!!! 943Oct 20, 2015 9:33 pm Beautiful pendants over island. May i ask where they were from and roughly how much a piece? I have done the extended tiling across from the tiling above vanity to over the bath like you too. With the window sitting at the same height relative to tiling as yours. Wish i found this pic earlier in my piece as i could've just pointed to it as to what i want! Interesting that you have a normal trilock for entrance but also a pull handle? Personal touch? Lotta nice bottles of fun in that scullery /pantry haha. Is there a powerpoint in there given the appliances? Still working out whether to add in powerpoint to my own pantry shelving....nifty for stashing the microwave away but worried i might be shooting myself in the foot with a tenant who gets the pantry all messy that way! Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover - Moved in photos!!! 944Oct 20, 2015 9:35 pm Oh and what is that kitchen splashback, how the right hand side return wall is laminate? Or is that tiling that looka like the overheads? Looks good. Actually wait i think i worked out that it's cabinetry! Deceiving haha in which case it's just normal laminate? What roof did you go btw! Too many threads so if youcould point me to the page for the front/outside elevation that'd be great! Looks awesome though Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover - Moved in photos!!! 945Oct 20, 2015 9:53 pm Hey hoot house its looking great. That wine holder is very funky your son did a good job! They started out face bricks today, the grey mortar is growing on me its still a bit wet so hoping it will come out a little lighter. I have put a couple pics on my thread Building in Aveley - Post-handover - Moved in photos!!! 946Oct 20, 2015 9:56 pm Wow Hoot! You guys are getting quite a bit done! I'vm not posting any pics because we're still mid-moving and all you see is boxes Absolutely love that Laundry. What a great practical space. Wish i'd ommitted our sliding door for something like that to be able to put the sink right in the corner. Looks great! Haha, tell Mrs Hoot all i see in that scullery is grog Probably need it after the build! LOL That wine bottle holder is fab! You're son is very artistic! Your entrance is a reall show-stopper. Love the high ceiling and window above door! You and & Mrs Hoot should be very proud! _______________________ KEYYYSSS!! ~ 14/10/15 viewtopic.php?t=72518 Our Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72518 Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover - Moved in photos!!! 947Oct 20, 2015 10:03 pm It all looks amazing Hootie! You've got it looking like a show home in a matter of days. Impressive! Saberx the front door handle comes like that as standard it's called an omni trilock and a power point in the pantry is a good idea Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover - Moved in photos!!! 950Oct 21, 2015 1:00 am Looking awesome Hootie! It all looks amazing! Has it sunk in yet that it's all yours? It must be an amazing feeling seeing it all come together with your furniture My topic thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76249&start=20#p1316378 Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover - Moved in photos!!! 957Oct 23, 2015 2:50 am Hey everyone, how's everyone doing? Sorry I haven't been on here as much, with all the moving and unpacking...and still packing some stuff in the previous house and preparing it for rental...it's all been crazy. However, we've been enjoying the new house and it's a joy to wake up in it. We are enjoying every moment despite the busi-ness of it all and also the daily routine. Thanks for the nice words Mrs Hootie is still very happy with her new kitchen and scullery...first cake baked today in the new house to celebrate my girl's 12th bday, so that was a treat. First sleepover happening this weekend. My girl got her birthday wish to invite her BFF for a sleepover lol.... nikkis2000 - I know...the top shelf of the scullery...what better items to put there than those lol... SaberX - Those pendants were from Beacon Lighting. Mrs Hootie changed her mind and decide to have these after seeing them in the store. They were not our original choice, but they turned out well. They are called Husk 1LT 270mm pendant in matt black. I believe there are different sizes of this lamp. Each cost ard $129 but we bought during a discount period so I think we got 30% off the total price. We have 2 double powerpoints in the scullery. Mrs Hootie had planned to put the appliances in that area, so now there is microwave, kettle, rice cooker and blender. Having these items connected in the pantry means less clutter in the main kitchen. I see that you have figured out the splashback hee hee. We have a skillion roof for the theatre and the main entrance. ColleyCrew - Thanks. I will check out your thread for the pics Dream_Catchers - We still have a lot to do lol...the photos I took were at an angle that omitted showing the mountains of packed boxes in the study and empty boxes in the alfresco...lol..we are very proud of the house As for Mrs Hootie's scullery, we've not had any of the grog yet, as all the beers are in the fridge and we've been drinking those lol... Ourmansion - Thanks...it feels like the moving in would never end haha...we are still bringing smaller stuff over from the old place as we minimised the moving cost by having the movers move one truck load of the mostly heavier and bulky stuff. Woolyfish - Have a look at those pendants at Beacon Lighting, they look better in real life vs the pic on the website. Thank you for your kind words archetto - The show home look has now been overtaken by the kids' mess lol...the look lasted for as long as those photos were taken. That being said, it's interesting to look at how the kids use the space in the new home. MrsMaccaPacca - haha...no one hiding under the quilt...those are our bolsters or what our son calls body pillows.... trixee - Thanks...the colours for those areas turned out better than expected. I'm glad that we went for black dining chairs instead of the white ones. The different woods also seem to match..we were slightly worried that there would be too many shades of wood in that area... jelbell55 - We are still settling in and enjoying it. Can't wait for the landscaping to be started and completed so that we can have the house to ourselves and enjoy the outdoor area too kellie_87, jlo1990, Gypsyhabitat - Thanks it's all still sinking in... admodra - Thank you I'm glad that out house design worked out. We were very lucky with the post handover trades too, esp the flooring. The guys even came back to redo several areas that we were not to happy with and finished the job to our satisfaction. Landscaping update: 1) Areas for paving have been compacted last week and a load of pavers arrived today in our front verge. 2) Sunken firepit area has been marked out and excavation commenced. I will keep everyone updated and hope to have some pics soon when more work is done Our Build Thread: The "Extended" Marina by Visionone Homes Our Inspirations: Frank Lloyd Wright | Houzz Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover - Moved in photos!!! 958Oct 23, 2015 3:39 am Hootie your house looks absolutely beautiful - wow you guys have done so much in a short time! You have a talented son too to make such a lovely wine bottle holder I was wondering whether you were really going to have a piano in that corner! I love the light over the ensuite vanity mirror - does it work well enough to apply make-up (if you could ask Mrs Hootie for me please ) Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover - Moved in photos!!! 959Oct 27, 2015 2:22 pm Wow Hootie what a great job of getting the house looking so good so quickly, you all should be very proud. How is the planking going? we have settled on Karndean Cambridge. Now looking forward to seeing the landscaping. Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover - Landscaping starts! 960Oct 27, 2015 5:59 pm MalSannie Hootie your house looks absolutely beautiful - wow you guys have done so much in a short time! I love the light over the ensuite vanity mirror - does it work well enough to apply make-up (if you could ask Mrs Hootie for me please ) Haha yeah we really do have a piano! And it fit in that corner perfectly! Re the light in the ensuite, Mrs Hootie doesn't use makeup...so she can't tell. But we find that the light is really a fill in light. It's actually an outdoor light but we fit it into the bathroom as we like its up/down beam. Petad Wow Hootie what a great job of getting the house looking so good so quickly, you all should be very proud. How is the planking going? we have settled on Karndean Cambridge. Now looking forward to seeing the landscaping. Flooring was completed less than a 1.5 weeks ago...took 2 guys 3 days...luckily we didn't do it ourselves lol....Karndean is a good brand...hope you guys are going ok with the flooring. Update!! Landscaping works have begun! Earthworks started last week, but has been delayed due to a minor issue. However, we have most of the paving almost 3/4 complete! Extention of paving from main entry to side of theatre: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Paving from third garage to side of house: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ More paving from other side of house to verandah area, more paving is to extend to the fence and firepit area (not done yet): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The firepit should start taking shape from the later part of this week (fingers crossed) and by next weekend we should have artificial turf in front of the alfresco and dining area. I think once the back area is done, then the landscaper will start on the front of the house. So strange to feel the "excitement" building up again, as if we are still in the building process, if you know what I mean lol...
